Jenny, I’m so excited about this project working on the same garden looking forward to seeing your inspiration for this space. 😂 at the angelic comment I have a 7 mo yellow lab there are times. I’ve pushed the boundaries and found pockets of good sun adding clematis here and there to grow up trees.
What an exciting and new project! I put Prince tut (Left in pot), water Lettuce and Water Hyacinth plants in a large pot with a little waterfall in it (Pump and copper leaves). Enjoyed immensely.
Truly, inspirational video!!! I have an area that's natural, but I want to make it more enjoyable. There's English ivy in it which is why I've avoided tackling it. I hand pull put that only keeps at bay temporarily. What can I use to get rid of them? Thank you for any suggestion.
A waterfall..
Virginia blue bells would look good on the hillside and let them naturalize.
Jeny tell Jerry to put a fountain on the pond create sitting around or near add your magical plants 🪴 around it. The would look awesome 👌
So many beautiful options for the woodland garden.
Watching you from Delaware.
I too love that area ,just limb the Holly up !!! It’s going to gorgeous 💚 Your Mother will be a perfect person for advice ,❤️ wild azaleas, rhododendrons, Maples, yes ………This is the kind of pond that looks natural,I can’t wait ………love your Hat too 🌿🌱
I love your beanie! What is the brand? ❤
get a root slayer shovel to pop out briar roots. it works great. I just cut English ivy and it will die high up and eventually drop leaves and fall off. English ivy is killing all trees in my neighborhood. Roots have to be dealt with or it will grow back. We also have honey suckle which is invasive and chokes out trees. Also invasive is nandina and mahonia. So many invasives! At least we have some Virginia blue bells. Love your pond! Maybe your son should metal detect that road. Great he is taking that on.
Reclaiming land is very exciting- glad you’re not daunted by hard work of removing troublesome plants. To recreate the natural feel you mentioned in the wooded area, I’d think native plants would be best to achieve that
I see a waterfall that looks natural at the top of the pond and a gazebo at the bottom side of the pond.
Congratulations for the top 20 gardening you tube videos. More under Steph’s channel under Hooked and Rooted where Creekside was placed in the top 20. I totally agree. You guys are wonderful!
Hi Jenny. Wow how exciting! Projects are fun… can’t wait to see your pond & planting visions unfold. ❤
Some native rhododendrons would be really pretty on the Woodland side of the pond
How about RedBuds? I have many seeds I’d ❤️ to donate!
Perhaps put a vintage Model A along the road
What an amazing area! I often visit the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay. The first thing I thought of was their azalea and rhododendron garden which winds through the woods. Just a few tucked in between the trees would be beautiful. Just another thought, some natural rock seating areas around the pond or up into the woods. Can’t wait to see what you decide. I know it will be beautiful.!
As someone else said it’s begging for a weeping willow tree and a variety of grasses scattered about and you love grasses ..will be a nice project to watch unfold 💕
that is one beautiful area.. need some seating in that area where you were standing looking out over the back yard and pond. can't wait to see it unfold.
Jenny, thanks for an insightful tour of yall's property. What a panoramic view from the trail and peak into future garden beauty! I can't wait to watch it evolve. As ever, Jackson and Brinna are stars!
Thank you, Jenny, for explaining this. I know I was one of those who asked this question. It's basically the sun during the summer more than during the other parts of the year, which has always gotten me confused. Does partial sun mean scatter sun? I have cameras that run 24/7 around the property. I will take snapshots to see where the sun is. 90% of my garden is in camera view. You are so helpful.
Can't wait to see it 🤩
It's fun to walk around and dream with you. 😊 What about an old rowboat near the pond full of beautiful annuals?
The holly tree is lovely at the edge of the pond. Hope you decide to keep it.
Can’t wait to see what you come up with. You’ve already given me some ideas!! ❤
I had Mayapple with Solomon Seal around a bird pond. They both had spread but loved them anyway.
Hi Jenny! I’m looking forward to seeing the pond gardens develop. So exciting!😆
Oh! The moment I saw the little road and the hill with the forest….and how you both loved the view….I Thought
Perfect for Doctor Zhivago….starring Omar Sharif and the Glorious Golden Daffodils covering the hill side!
Then for a staggering over plant….
Red Spider lilies like
At Haguroyama park in JAPAN. THEY GROW UNDER THE TREES and bloom in fall. So the same hill would look STUNNING in fall And spring!
I bet looking at Thomas Kincaide paintings would give you some ideas. He did a lot with nature combined with flowers and colors. I can see this area resembling something he had painted. It will be WONDERFUL!! The Japanese Maples are a definite must! Could you use the slope that is more bare to create a terraced flower bed with the rocks??? This is will be super cool!
