I received this Growell hydroponic system for Christmas and really enjoy that someone understood that I like plants and gardening. I’ve imagined that these systems are only good for seed starters and never thought they would be sustainable enough to keep a plant growing for constant harvest.

-What are your thoughts on these systems?
-Do you have any tips to make the system better?

I am thinking of growing some basic herbs indoors utilizing every other pod location so things don’t get overcrowded. Obviously not trying to grow tomatoes like the product image on the packaging shows lol. What’s your thoughts?

I had one with six pods and it was great for a few months. Then the roots grew to fill the entire water reservoir and it needed to be refilled every day. I couldn’t keep up with it so I let everything die. I would pot them up once you have decent roots

I have a six-holer and I have grown at least 10 cycles over the last few years. My only reservation is the fact that the holes are so close together. Faster growing plants can shade out the plants that take longer to germinate. I have a cycle now with just two plants (2 types of basil). They don’t crowd each other and are much healthier. I cover the unused holes with the little plastic domes that come with the seed kits
