  1. I’m so thankful I found your channel. As a late bloomer to farm-steading myself (started at 61 and I’ll be 65 this summer) and your youthful energy encourages me to keep on keeping on and finding joy and renewed health in gardening and raising my small herd of dairy goats for better health physically as the joyful responsibilities give me better health emotionally and spiritually. God bless you and heal you and your family in your loss.

  2. I have no words for the loss you must feel but you still have it all on film and in your memories that you have shared with all of us. And life will begin again as it always does. Blessings always..

  3. so sorry about your california home and garden. your new grandchildren can see what was there in the videos you have. I know that isn’t the same as seeing in person. hopefully the area will be rebuilt. .

  4. Spot looks completely recovered! Kaye, that is exactly what I did! I have been hibernating but decided to get outside yesterday and winter sowed flowers and planted onion seeds. I even pruned my fruit trees. Right now I am sitting by the fire ( 16 degrees outside! ) and browsing Pinetree Garden seed catalogue. Tomorrow and Friday are going to be warm-er so hope to go back out and plant more seeds and clean my greenhouse.
Love your determination to keep doing positive in a time of such negativity. You are a little ray of sunshine, Kaye, and we thank God for that!🌞💖

  5. hi kaye 🤗
im so sorry your family lost your california home. you have great neighbors and recorded memories. im glad you and your family members are safe. thank you for sharing.

  6. Maybe in time you can put the videos of the house on a hard drive and send it to your sons so they can show it to their families …

  7. I'm sorry Kaye. I've been watching the fires because I lived in the area as a young boy in the early sixties. Hard to watch and I'm sure it's even harder for you.

  8. I think I know how you feel, Kaye. My grandpa was a dentist. Their home in town was one of those old brick Victorians that had the storefront below and the home above. Just an 8-minute drive down the road was their farm. In 1974 when my grandfather was in the hospital with cancer the time came when the doctors said there was nothing left they could do, and they allowed grandma to take him home and keep him comfortable till he passed. Before bringing him home she moved house, with our help, from their home in town to the farmhouse which they had formerly rented out. The house in town and the farmhouse were the happiest places of my life where all my memories were made until my grandmother passed when I was 40 in 2004. Grandma sold the house in town several years after grandpa's death. I thought it would be there forever, but the church that stood behind it purchased the property and decided to tear our historical building down to make a parking lot for the church. Grandma wanted the farm sold and the money divided between myself and two cousins so we followed her wishes. After the farm sold to a developer they razed all the out buildings, the barns, the house, and even filled in the pond and the lake. Both of the places that was my family and my entire life of memories forever gone. It's felt like someone has tried to erased my family's memory. One maple tree we planted in the front yard yet remains as a landmark along with our gravel driveway that was diverted to the east to make a driveway for the new home built. It's painful to see. I've only seen it through the lens of Google Earth. That is sad enough for me. I don't know if I could ever go back to see it in person. BTW, I heard you say in a video that your property had no flat land for a greenhouse. Wouldn't take much for a bulldozer to move a little soil around for a flat spot for a hoop house. Maybe this place has served it's purpose though. Perhaps you might sell and find you a better spot to spend your golden years in?

  9. I’m so sorry about the loss of 1.0. I didn’t know of you then. Glad you moved to TN. I need to go back and watch some of the old videos. I have a hard time driving by the house where I grew up. There was only one until I left for college. I can’t imagine it ceasing to exist. I know you put so much of yourself into that place and it was a part of you. Hugs for you and your sons. 😢

  10. So very sorry, Kaye! I had hoped for your garden on Miami. I remember all those videos. Loved ❤ your kitties today! YES, 1.0 is gone, but I'M SO GLAD you had already moved back home 🏡 from there! I was born in OC, but glad that I, too, escaped CA. HOLDING UP my old state in 🙏 prayer! Love you, Kaye! ❤
