I have for years been told this is a Tillandsia pohliana until it struck me that it has purple flower. I was then told it was a Lorentzia but it does not have the side bracts.
This is a pretty large Tillandsia ( about 30 to 40cm ). I have quite a few of them, and now I realise I am not sure what they are. They are silver leaves.

I was also wondering if it might be a Tillandsia straminea but I always thought the flower of the straminea is more spread out
