I just started 1 *of* 3 yesterday! I’ll get the rest going in February. Turtlehead, Obedient Plant, and an Arkansas Rose (which has already done a round of strat).

Why tape them? If the top is open anyway, why not just let the side be open too?

For anybody curious about how I figure out what’s in each container:
there are two ways:
1. Every single container has little green plastic labels inside (you can see them in the lettuce / salad containers)
2. I can use my nocodb’s winter_sowing table’s row IDs to look up a specific container. see screencap.
Do you need to drill any holes in the bottom of these containers?

Need to get around to doing this!

What’s the logic behind this? What if it snows again and then temperatures drop? wouldn’t the soil stay colder for longer this way (container almost completely enclosed vs a pot with no cover)?

I used a number system this year with my jugs also. A lady I bought from last spring did it so I copied. Lol

I got plastic tags and zip tied them to the containers.
Is it too late to winter sow some 60 day germination wild flowers in SC? Weather is in the 50/60s now.
