Honestly you’ll be doing the main plant a favor by cutting off all that length. Take a bunch of cuttings and water root them. Make a whole new pot of pothos or add to your current pot to make denser (altho it will get crowded sooner and need repotting) Once you root the cuttings and go to plant in soil mix be sure and keep it moister until the cutting roots adjust to the soil from water life. They have a tendency to wilt easy when switched over so keeping moist helps them acclimate. Overall very easy and it really will help the Mother plant so it’s not having to support( supply nutrients-water) out so far.
