Has anyone ever tried layering/ air layering with a cliff rose (Purshia stansburiana I think) or other native evergreen?
My parents have a beautiful tree, that must be at least 100 years old, in their backyard. I’d love to have a seedling from it that I could plant in my own yard.

I have a bit of a unwarranted fear that if my parents ever sell, the buyer is going to rip out all the native plants in the backyard.
Though my parents aren’t planning to sell anytime soon, I’d like to preserve the beauty of this plant I guess you could say!

I’m curious if layering is the way to go, or if I should just try to grow from seed? Advice appreciated!
