First time growing green onion from the roots of a previous one… is it normal to have two shooting out of there?

Yes and in my opinion you could plant it on the ground or a planter already. Many more shoots can sprout from that single root. I used to keep unlimited green onion on a roof garden 😀 they grow real fast and it’s very satisfying to be able to keep eating your own harvest even if it’s tiny 💙

Totes! Enjoy, they grow super fast in water but you’ll want to get it into soil soon to get it reproducing, then you’ll have a never ending free supply.
