What could have possible created these lines in my zoysia? I live in North Queensland. I have not added any fertilisers or pesticides. It’s been hot but nothing unusual and I’ve never seen this before. I had a large tree cut down about 4-5 months ago, could it be the roots ?

So, no its unrelated to the tree roots.

See how every line has a perfectly parallel partner? Those are mower tracks.

There are 2 possible reasons why that happened. Both are related to how mower wheels create microscopic breakages in the grass.
    – you mowed during the hottest parts of the day. The cut and those microscopic breaks allow moisture to escape rapidly, which causes stress to the grass. Think of it as localized heat stress along the path of the wheels.
    – its rare on your species of turf, but it absolutely happens… [ascochyta leaf blight disease.](https://turfpathology.ces.ncsu.edu/2020/04/ascochyta-leaf-blight-uncommon-sometimes-devastating/) Long story short, for a variety of reasons, the disease enters the grass through those microscopic breaks and infects the tips of the leaves. It rarely affects the whole plant. (It can show up on the tracks OR the actual path of the cut)

For what it’s worth, this looks just like simple mower tracks to me. So I’ll give you the solution for that:
    – it’ll resolve on its own as long as the lawn is otherwise moderately healthy.
    – check to make sure the wheels spin properly and aren’t wobbly. Also inspect the texture of the wheels… If you push it over gravel or rough pavement often, the plastic wheels can get worn down in a way that makes them very abrasive.
    – mow in the evening.
