So sad for them. I understand deeply as I lost my home totally in a tornado. The hurt gets better but never goes away.

Please tell me his pets were saved? I’m still very raw from the sudden loss of my cat-son, (not fire related) and have had to be careful on the socials today after seeing an orange kitty with melted whiskers after being rescued from the fires. Our remaining cat doesn’t understand why I’ve spent the day alternating between telling her to get out of the potted plants that have been brought in from the winter freeze, and squeezing her, promising I’ll never leave her behind in a fire lol
