I have come back a week earlier from a holiday than my partner, who has always mowed the lawns. He has told me to leave them until he comes back (I've never done it before haha) but I'd like to surprise him by doing some gardening.
My problem is that our lawnmower (picture 2)
is an old one from his parents, and I don't want to turn it on and accidentally do something wrong/break it. I have found guides for newer models of this brand but can't for this one. Does anyone know the model of it or how to operate it?

Can you show a picture of the handle
Make sure there’s gas. Move gas lever half to 3/4’s. It might have a turtle and rabbit next to it. Move to rabbit. Pull handle. If there’s a bar under the handle make sure to squeeze it while pulling the rope. Looking at the vintage of that bad boy I doubt it has one. Don’t mow your feet. Gl

There may be a gas primer button to push a couple of times and a choke to start it. I’d need to see a picture of the backside of the engine to tell you for sure.
Lever forward, get behind it (on the handle side) and pull the cord hard and fast over the handle to keep you feet away from the blade under the red part. If it starts let it go so it retracts back into the top of the engine. If it doesn’t start, pull again I until it does.
I love this. This is what relationships are about. I’d be over the moon if my partner didn’t know how to use the lawnmower and I came home and it was done. Good on you. Make sure you do a good job and I’m sure he will appreciate it like crazy. I certainly would.
