This is my first time caring for a venus flytrap, or any carnivorous plant for that matter. It’s in winter dormancy atm so I knew to expect a less lively plant, but it looks pretty sickly now and I can’t figure out why. It’s planted in sphagnum moss, damp with distilled water but not wet, and it sits by the window for sunlight. The window btw gets really cold and makes the surrounding area cold, so provides sufficient cold for winter dormancy. I can’t figure out what could be wrong. I checked the roots and they seem fine.

Pretty normal for winter dormancy, the plant will die back a bit but in the spring with warmer temps will bounce back and push new traps. I wouldn’t worry.
