So I came back at the leaves were completely slack. I rested the leaves on a small coffee table to prevent any further damage.
After watering the soil and a little on the leaves I’m wondering if it’s actually salvageable? She sits on my windowsill in Vienna which isn’t getting a lot of sunshine at the moment.
Sunlight is pretty bad in Austria at the moment.

The leaves may die from shock, but the tuber in the soil may survive! My frydek dropped its leaves completely for 6 months, but I kept watering it once the soil was dry. The tuber itself survived and it started producing new leaves again and pups as well.
Your friend cannot be saved. 🥹
it can survive! unfortunately, maybe not all the leaves, but soak the pot in water for half an hour or so and leave it alone in shade for a bit. Alocasias are a lot more resilient than people think.
Agree with all the advice here. Even if her leaves die, the corm should sprout again in time. I have a variegated gageana that yeeted all of its leaves last winter bc I had the audacity to bring it inside so it wouldn’t freeze, and I kept watering it and now it has 5 big new leaves and is growing like crazy.
Tip for the future, since your “friend” is unreliable, water and bag your plants if you’re leaving for an extended amount of time. I did that to a few pants of mine bc of mealies, left it alone for a month and it was still moist and even growing new leaves.
It’s still alive under the dirt, the leaves will regrow.
