I’ve had this baby for a little over a year and recently noticed the leaves are turning brown-gray and then just… popping off. I’ve been cutting the brown parts off but am now noticing some on new leaves. Do I need to change the dirt? Give her a hair cut? Help me save her 😭

My knowledge of plants is “plant in dirt, give it sun and water once a week”.

I’m not sure if it’s actually the cause but that leaf is so white it probably can’t photosynthesise at all. Are the greener leaves affected?

Could be root rot. Take the plant out of the soil, check if the roots are mushy or firm.

Watering on a schedule is not very good, some plants need more some need less. You should always check the soil. For most plants it needs to be almost dry before watering.

You shouldn’t water once a week, you should water based on what the plant needs.

The crown of your plant looks like it’s buried in soil. The petioles of the leaves and stem will rot if they’re covered in soil.

Agree with the crown being too deep. I find that philo leaves do not like to be wet. I use a liquid worm castings in my water along with diluted mosquito bits. I dripped some on my silver sword and it did exactly that? Repot in loose soil and don’t bury crown. Hold off watering a day or two after repotting. Good luck!

Probably your plant is not absorbing the necessary nutrients from soil. Check out for the Ph of the water you are using. It looks quite calcaire, as per the white, salt -like ridges on the soil. Use demineralized water if possible.
