It all began when we moved into the neighborhood. After spending years living in a cramped apartment, Rachel and I were eager to start fresh. We found a charming, three-bedroom house in a quiet suburban area with well-manicured lawns and tree-lined streets. The kind of place where you could finally own a house without the constant noise of city life, and where the biggest excitement seemed to be an HOA meeting or the occasional neighborhood barbecue. I’d always dreamed of owning a classic car, and the house we bought came with a two-car garage—a perfect place to store and work on my pride and joy: a 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback. It wasn’t just any car. This Mustang was a project I’d been restoring for years. Every detail had been painstakingly thought through, from the custom paint job to the upholstery. But the real work had been under the hood. The original engine had long since given out, so I decided to swap it for something more powerful: a 302 cubic-inch V8 from a 1970 Mustang. It wasn’t just an upgrade—it was my vision coming to life. It was a quiet Saturday when I decided to install the new engine. The sun was high, and it seemed like the perfect day to work on the car. After a few hours of wrenching, I had everything in place. The Mustang’s new engine roared to life, and I couldn’t help but grin from ear to ear. It was more powerful than I had imagined, and everything sounded perfect. But I didn’t realize how loud it was until I took it for a quick test drive down the street. The engine rumbled with authority, shaking the air around me. I revved it a little, just to feel the power. That’s when I noticed Greg…

  1. I would never live in an HOA neighborhood unless the HOA wants to pay my mortgage taxes and insurance. My house/property

  2. HOA – say no more. (jobs for petty tyrants with nothing better to do)
top tip – get some quality security for your car and your home.

  3. By law, noise complaints are unenforceable without a decibel level and a recording of the noise level exceeded it. As long as someone stays on the sidewalk, they can take as many photos as they want.

  4. I am a Greg but nothing like that Greg. I lived in the country and ran a small car repair garage, and noise happened pretty regular, but luckily it was way out in the country, and is why I bought the land out there. I would never live in an HOA, ever!

  5. Yet another episode of "never buy into an HOA" chronicles. Put a different exhaust on the car and, if you need to, a diverter. The thing is, if you signed the HOA agreement and stuff like noise level was part of it, you are bound to comply. Mind you, ahole HOA "management" is always going to be a problem; mostly because there is nothing so petty as a petty bureaucrat.

  6. Love that Mustang! My boyfriend had a 2005-red with black stripes-Mustang and it was rear-ended in 2018. He could no longer fit my Rollator-a walker with a seat-into the trunk and his dear was totalled anyway. Bill decided to get a Nissan Rogue instead so I could fit my new Zoomer inside instead. I still miss the sound it made while he zoomed up the road from Ga. to Tenn. to Ky.and then to Ohio (our final destination to Lebanon for his h.s. reunion). It was scary going down Campbell Hill from his brother 's house above Nashville, but his car made it safely down to the road to the road to Ky. I miss that Mustang.

  7. ESH. OP should have installed mufflers. The HOA was entitled to enforce its rules. Greg was an AH for trespassing.
    after the first notice.

OP should have called the police and filed vandalism charges. OP should have filed charges of GTA.

  8. Yeah, Greg was going sell the car as soon as he had it stolen from your garage. No one can enter your home to take pictures of anything unless they have a court order and police escorts.

  9. Hoa the land of the autistic they defy change of any sort. Do it once they never walk away..hoa is breeding ground for comies

  10. When I built my house in my community, we did not have HOA. We had board directors that were all voluntary as time went by. I wanna say maybe 10 years now I’m here almost 40. They decided they want to put this HOA said that we were illegally operating our community, which was not true so naturally these people come in they’re on the board and they changed all the rules now I’m not so sure what’s going on. They went for outside security, which we never had outside security, we always had in-house security so they would take care of their job, which cost us a hell of a lot more than in-house security. Also, when you try to talk to these people, they don’t wanna talk to you and God forbid you have a complaint they say they’ll get back to you and they never do so I don’t know what kind of HOA. These people are involved with, but it seems it has to be their way what they want how they think things should be run and I think that’s wrong now when I moved here, there was no HOA. They brought it in themselves I have no idea that was even happening. I was not informed so I am not part of this HOA but yet Del criticize you if you’re not what do you do

  11. Grand Theft Auto! Greg should be in jail. Sue him – that's a classic car worth a lot! You have the video of him with a screw driver the video of him stealing it with unauthorized use of a tow truck. His harassment and the emotional distress. Don't mess with family or my mustang!

  12. Dumb son of a gun, just put a muffler on the car. You bought the house knowing the house were under HOA rules. Live with it or move.

  13. This guy's grandma was nicer than I would've been. There would've been sprinklers with food coloring in them set on motion detectors, dye packs that blow up and cover you with the same bright color that they use for bank bags from robberies, and I would've been mimicking Greg, in his yard, taking pictures of EVERYTHING. His house, his car, his lawn, HIM, and anything else that I needed to "document." These people are always so nice about it. I'm not. You wanna play the game? Baby, I wrote the rulebook. Come on with it.
