Hi everyone. This is my second Yuca (I killed the first and feel bad, tbh) and can’t seem to keep them alive. Any tips on saving this big guy? Watering every 2 weeks. It gets light as seen in the pictures.

Honestly, yuccas can be a little tricky, but they’re not impossible once you get a feel for what they like. The most common problem is overwatering, even if you’re only doing it every couple weeks. These guys need soil that dries out thoroughly between waterings, so make sure the top few inches of soil are bone dry before you water again. Also, yuccas love as much bright light as possible—direct sun is usually fine, so if you can move it closer to a window or let it get more rays, it might perk up. Another thing to watch for is the pot size and drainage: if it’s in a pot that’s too big or doesn’t drain well, that can cause root rot. Try to hold off on watering until the pot feels lighter and the soil is dry to the touch, and see if that helps. If the leaves continue to yellow or brown, snip them off to encourage new growth. With a little patience and light, it should start thriving again.
