What a lil cutie. But naturally yes they are harmful, they eat plants. They also reproduce like bunnies so you better relocate that sucker now and keep an eye out for others.

I see at least 4 different things moving in that soil. Is this an indoor plant? I would repot with fresh soil.

I would recommend sterilizing whatever soil you’ve been using.
Diatomaceous earth treatment is very effective against slugs & snails.
Theres also parasitic nematodes ive been told are great, but i haven’t personally used it. Diatom worked for my slug battle

No idea if this works on plants in soil or if the acidity would affect the plant badly, but orchid growers treat snails by dipping the pot in cold coffee to dose them with caffeine.
