Oh that’s right, it’s time for the September Garden Tour of My Carolina Garden!!! I’m so thrilled to show you my back yard southern garden full of tropical plants like banana trees, Dipladenia, and elephant ears. I’m also excited to show you my rock garden, and other full sun garden beds full of some pretty flowers and some tired plants as well.

My name is Nicole Roggeman and My Carolina Garden is located in coastal North Carolina, in growing zone 8B. I hope you enjoy my new Fall flowers and the changes I’m beginning to make! 1. You have done such a great job with the layout of the rock garden. I love the plants cascading over the rocks and others poking up in between.
I'm thinking about doing a row of cannas like you have yours done. I'm still playing around with the layout of what will be my tropical garden. I get inspired every time I see yours ❤

  2. How pretty & fresh your garden looks! We have the same taste in plants & flowers, have an inground pool & going for that tropical vibe. (salt is in our blood.) 🌴🌸 I also have 3 palm trees around the pool.
I am in middle GA same zone as you & the heat & dryness has been a nightmare this summer for us. I can barely keep up the watering. I have to say it always looks like things are barely making it if they are getting a lot of sun. Thankful for the few shade trees we have.
I, too, have issues with those leaf rollers in my cannas to the point I dug most of mine up & gave them away…except for my bengal tiger favorite. I potted some of it up & that seemed to help keep the leaf rollers out. (I’ve gotten to where if I have constant problems with a plant, I get rid of it.)
I love your concrete pelican. I have one, too!❤
I have a Bougainvillea (variegated) that I overwinter in the garage along with my plumeria, tropical hibiscus, collection of crown of thorns & a couple of philodendron plants. Sometimes I’ll run a heater when the temps get below 40.
Ok, I need some elephant ears. Wow, yours are happy!
Thank you for the lovely tour! You’ve given me some ideas. ❤
    Your new gardening friend🌻😊

  5. Hi Nicole, next season I am going to try key lime dianthus. They are very different looking! Your garden is still in great shape! Things are starting to look ready to cut back here in Southeastern Pennsylvania 😢

  6. thanks for the tour, i just love going with you on the garden tours. my banana tree is blooming now and it's beautiful. you have your gardens set up and looking amazing. we are in ga and the hurricane is heading our way right up the state of ga. hope and pray that every thing goes thru ok. and your elephant ears are beautiful and big. thanks for sharing your amazing gardens with us.

  7. Very nice! Impressed by that cordeline you featured near end of video that stays out all winter. Got to find one of those. Your dipladania seems to be very healthy here in panhandle of Florida my leaves on mine seems to yellow out in full sun. But got my red mandevilla to climb 10’ with lots of red blooms. Again nice work
