When I bought this, it had bigger leaves. Initially I put it on the bathtub side, then a couple of leaves started dying so I thought the moisture is the reason.
Later I put it in the balcony, leaves started dying but a couple new ones grew. I also repotted it into this pot, which by the way does not have drainage holes.
am I doing something wrong? Is the pot the problem?

I water it when the soil feels dry and currently it's not exposed to direct sunlight.

It wants a pot that is only about 1 inch larger around than the root mass. It wants to be watered when it starts to droop a little bit. And, it’s a tropical plant so it may not want to be in your environment at all.

I would definitely put it in a pot with drainage that is only 1-2″ larger than the root ball.

It looks like a Caladium. I don’t keep them for various reasons so I had to look it up. They like humidity, acidic soil, filtered light and don’t let it fully dry out. Keep moist but not saturated. I’d water when the top half of the soil is dry.

Not having drainage is tricky. I would downsize the pot size and put it in something with drainage to ensure you’re not overwatering.

Smaller pot with drainage holes. If you want a decorative pot for aesthetic, I recommend putting the plant into a planter pot with holes at the bottom, then putting that into a decorative pot.

Also don’t water until majority of the soil is dry and when you do water, drench the soil.

Can give more particularized guidance if you share the type of plant it is ^^

Caladiums are seasonal. They go through a dormant period where they will lose all of their foliage. You can leave the corm in the soil and it should come back each year during the growing season.

Pot too big and needs drainage holes. When you repot just leave it alone where it gets indirect sunlight it looks stressed enough already. You can also get grow lights and it will grow all year round.
