In this video we explain how we are heating our 4 season geodesic dome greenhouse that we purchased in May of 2024 from Arctic Acres in Ontario Canada. We talk about our natural gas hookup and why we have also decided to install a wood stove as well. We explain and show how we are lighting our dome in our dark winter days in Alberta.
We are also battling aphids and some spider mites so we are looking into different solutions like lady bugs, lacewings and of course companion planting with our herbs. Our goal is to try and stay away from chemicals as much as possible in the garden and on our sustainable homestead.

I get scales so bad when I bring my plants in, in the winter. Use neem oil. Had aphids in my pointsettias a few years ago and …… I should spray down the plant I have now with scales, but I want it to be over 10C/50F. Love what yous guys/y'all/you people are doing up there. Tell those kids to enjoy the snow, I get the yearning for snow every December.
Also from Alberta here! Just curious do you have any specific companies you like getting your seeds from? Just making my seed orders for the year now and would love some opinions especially on herbs and tomatoes seeds
