Welcome to the first video in my new monthly series, where I map out all the exciting (and sometimes ambitious) garden projects for the month ahead! 🌱 In January, I’m diving into seed-starting prep, experimenting with winter sowing, setting up no-dig beds, and tackling a makeover for a small outdoor space. It’s all about laying the groundwork—literally and figuratively—for an amazing gardening season. Let’s get growing!

Happy New Year 🎊 Can’t wait to see your beautiful garden. Your new room color is bright and fresh ❤
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Gorgeous!
✨🕊️💚☘️💚🕊️✨
I didn’t realize you could transplant shrubs in January. I’m new to this and trying to learn as much as possible. Thank you for your content!
Happy New Year 🎊. Love the idea of you sharing month by month on how to handle the seeds and garden. 🎉 💐🌸🎉🎉🙏
Thanks for the little push! I’ve had my seed order for Baker creek filled out for a month. Today is the day I order for sure
I think keeping a journal is key 🔑
Happy New Year Roxana 🥳
I did a lot of transplanting and removing in fall. Always more to do though. I haven’t had great success with winter sowing either but I really want it to work because when it does, it’s amazing! Interested to see how it goes for you, and I’m going to try again myself.
Happy New Year! Excited to go along with you this season 🎉 looks like we are going to be getting some really cold weather soon. I'm hoping to get my winter sowing started and have good results this year too!
HAPPY 2025!! As always, I appreciate you sharing your ideas and how you intend on executing them. I think a video at the first of each month is a great idea and for me, it will help me stay on track and motivated.
I'm trying winter sowing this year but the weather forecast looks pretty snowy and cold so we'll see
Yay, something to watch while I’m still in bed happy new year, sweetheart
Happy New Year!
What a treat to see you today! And I must admit, the transformation of your seed room took me by surprise. I really enjoyed the cozy dark green space and am eager to see what you will do with the room now. Thanks for the push on ordering seeds and beginning to plan. I hope to follow your lead on seed starting this year, as I am also on Zone 6a. Here’s to a great start to the 2025 garden season!
I’m in central Indy too! What are some of the cool weather flowers you are starting?
I plan to follow along each month so I can have a better chance at a strong season.
Good luck with winter sowing! I’m in zone 9a so that’s foreign language to us in the south!
I’m old school also when it comes to garden info. I like using a yearly planner from Menards. It has each month and plenty of room to take notes. This is how I figured out why the winter sow was not doing well and when it was happening. Yes, our winters have been too warm and the roller coaster temps were killing the winter sow. I now start in late February or March and place on east side of house and once temps stabilize better I then move to full sun. This proved to be a winner last year as it kept the jugs frozen without premature germination.
I was just about to place an order and need to fully gather and review what I have so I don’t get duplicates. I really don’t need much it’s just those that only keep a year or two.
We are finally getting cold and everything outside is frozen. Not sure how long it will last as there is always a January thaw.
I love the idea of seeing what you are doing month by month. I didn’t know to transplant in the winter. I may try that.
If you need to rehome the boxwoods , I would gladly drive and help you dig them up and take them home as I have need to put in more shrubs around my house. I obviously don’t know what you fully have in mind for the area…
I transplant any season… I don't really follow rules, but I respect the ideas of someone else!!
Happy New Year Roxana! I can’t wait to see how your roadside stand works out for you! Fun!
SO helpful! Great advice for me in SE Michigan now 6b.
I’m going to try the same things as you this month. I give away bouquets to people and nursing homes and want to scale it up this year.
Happy New Year Roxana! Great video to get us excited for the upcoming season. I loved the bloopers at the end. When I make a video I usually have 15 minutes of bloopers I have to edit out LOL. Sometimes the brain to mouth connection is just not working 🙂
Happy New Year!
Yay on keeping a garden journal! Since 2021 I have kept mine in a Google spreadsheet. This makes it easy to do a keyword search if I need to. I have multiple tabs to keep track of everything I need in categories.
🥳 Happy New Year Roxana, The new background look is refreshing.🤍 Looking forward to what that's to share this year.🙏
