  1. When I inherited my parents dining set after they downsized, I had some tempered glass cut to fit the table and the buffet. Works like a charm

  2. What is the trick to keeping your ferns happy? I have tried, but even keeping the soil moist doesn’t seem to be enough. I had one placed in an east facing window, but it still seemed to get crispy leaves. I also tried misting the top of the plant to keep the leaves moist. It still didn’t make it. My next attempt, I think I may try to use some type of terrarium?!

  3. no safety glasses of course. OKAY, I watched the doctor DRILL pieces of metal out of my husbands eye when he was working in the steel mill. He did not have fun. He only has half of ONE EYE LEFT.. Keep not wearing safety glasses and you will need a seeing eye dog instead of a cat.

  4. Suggestion for the GA product line. A potting tray that doesn’t have a back. I love my tray that you recommended years ago from garden supply, it 20:47 is wonderful, but it has the tall lip on the back side which gets in the way sometimes. Maybe work with a producer to get a Laura version with an optional no back lip?

  5. Good morning Happy new year. You plugged the container . Why ? The plastic what does it do. Does the draining water stay at the bottom or does it drain😊

  6. Ooooo! SO pretty! Two of my favorite plants: ferns and orchids! You’ve inspired me to try something similar for our dining room table – only about 1/2 the length. ❤

  7. Oh no… those orchids will eventually pop those planters! in sure it will be years, but I’ve had one completely shatter beautiful pot

  8. Love the blue and white containers for the orchids. As soon as you placed them by the window, the whole kitchen looked bright and cheery.

  9. LOVE THE FERN TABLE CENTERPICE……THE ORCHARDS SHOULD HAVE REMAINED THE THEIR CONTAINERS……THINK LIKE THE PLANT….THEY LIKE TO SNUGGLE AND LEAVE THEIR ROOTS ALONE. MY ORCHIDS LIKE TO BE WATERED ONCE A WEEK – THAT MAKES THEM SO HAPPY. THE FERN CENTER PIECE WITH ORCHIDS NEEDS TO BE REMOVED AND PUT BACK IN THEIR CONTAINERS….LESS THEY SUFFER AND DIE.

  10. Hi Laura, If you go on with the tropical greenhouse you can have all kind of orchids on the trees, trumpet flowers of many colors, anthuriums, gardenias, camelias. In Costa Rica you can see the orchids on the trees in the cloud forest in their natural form, and many different kind of flowering trees. Monstera they grow huge on the trees. There are some ferns that are trees and the root is used for the orchids.

  11. Orchid needs air!! Those poor plants. That bark should be soaked prior to using. Those roots need to breathe. They cling to trees.
Orchid pots are open for a reason 😞

  12. I just wanted to add that soaking your orchid mix and moss ahead of time is much appreciated by your orchids. Love your blue and white containers, perfect for these lovely orchids!

  13. I had my teeth clenched the whole time you were drilling that beautiful pot!!😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬

  14. Great job drilling those holes in the blue and white pots, I have been wanting to learn how to do this. I noticed when you placed them at your kitchen window that when you remove the lilac you are going to have a fantastic view of the hartley! 🙂

  15. Hi Laura😊love your Videos❤.just wanted to say be mindful of where you place them ,the fireplace cant be lit bc ot will literlly cool them. the orchids need loads of humidity and the roots do better in pot with holes or see through, loads of air flow. They are after all a tropical plant,i grew up with them in my backyard. I have mine on a south facing very bright window and i sumerge water them once 10 days and ferilize every other week ..mine are 5 years old and bloom every 3/4 months.with no air flow and light the roots can get mold or literally choke they can get water from the humodity they can live happy in your studio bc you say it gets humid there. But orchids dont live under a tree on attatched to a tree under the canopy? Needs air flow and light and humid condtions. I have loads of orchids on my bathroom..they love it when i shower.😊

  16. Good Morning! ☃️ Love the orchids & ferns! The long planter is gorgeous! The kids are the supervisors – love it! The orchid containers are beautiful! I have grown orchids in the past. Maybe I will grow them again! You have inspired me! I noticed that you did not put saucers under the blue orchid containers. Will put saucers under then when you place them on the mantle? 🥰🪴🌿

  17. Love seeing the Orchids! Some of my favorites. You're so creative with your arrangements, they are gorgeous. Happy New Year!

  18. 9:15 am.
Hi Laura, it's important to soak your orchid mix before potting up your orchids as the previous comment suggested.
Also, I have had the same orchid for years & it is the same one as you have.
    They like bright indirect light.
I set the whole container in a sink filled with room temperature water for 15 minutes once a week. Let it drain before placing it back on its saucer. (They don't like to sit in water).
When it's in flower I feed it with orchid food twice a month.
If the leaves get a bit dusty just wipe with a damp cloth to keep them looking their best.
It will reward you for years to come!
All the best to you & your family. ❤️

  19. I'm surprised you didn't do some orchid care reading before this video. Most of your videos are a teaching tool. Orchids need light, so your fireplace won't work. Also, it's not necessary for orchids to have high humidity.
