Hi All, wife and I moved into a house a year ago. Central New England. About 2 lawn acres and 2-3 ‘field’ acres. Previous owner had a belly mower on a tractor. We kept up with the lawn area, but with so much other stuff going on let the field go this summer. I spoke to a farmer down the street who said he didn’t have any interest in haying it because it’s so small. By the end of summer it was about 4’ tall but it’s all knocked down now. I treated myself to a rough cut mower to tow behind the atv, but wondering when the best time to do it is? Googling has conflicting opinions. Im not looking for it to be a lush manicure, but also don’t want to have it be all dead come spring. Should I mow it while everything is dormant or wait for spring? Any help would be appreciated.
