Two different peace lilies. Same problem? Who knows. Both are losing/have lost all their bottom leaves…

General info – I water mostly when I see them get a bit droopy, so thinking a more regular watering schedule might be helpful. Pots have drainage holes and they don't sit in water at any point. Both get indirect light, but not in the same room.

Black pot – was in with a spider plant who was taking over. They were good neighbours for quite a while but the spiders been relocated to try to revive this dude. I'm guessing sunburn perhaps, on the leaves, but the main stem bit (name??) just keeps flopping over. Maybe needs a repot? This one is outside in the shade.

Red pot – main stem is now quite leggy as the bottom-most leaves are yellowing and falling off. Lots of nodes though, so I could chop and stick the bare stems back into the soil? This one is inside in indirect light.

I've always been a bit haphazard with my plant care but keen to make these guys happier .

Please inspect the plants for pests! Look in the nooks and crannies and under the leaves

  2. Best guesses:

Black pot- Have you made any other changes in the recent past besides the repotting? Like moved it somewhere else? Has it been outside? The damage looks like it was caused by the environment. Either it got direct sunlight or maybe left outside in the cold but i would bet more on the first option. Cut off the damaged leaves and it will produce more.

Red pot: the top of the leaves look dusty which could be a sign of spider mites but the leaf discoloration isn’t too much like spider mites so it could just be dirty. But check to be safe. For sure repot it though and make sure to keep it watered since spath do like their water. If there are mites, isolate and treat with either an insecticide or a mixture of dawn dish soap and water.

Check for spider mites it looks a bit like webbing on some leaves from what I see

  4. That one in the red pot has some really healthy new growth. The soil in both pots looks pretty old. I would do all fresh potting soil for both.

With the red one, pull out all that dead stuff and cut off the few yellow leaves at the base of the stem. This won’t harm the plant, but will actually encourage it to put out new growth.

The black pot looks a bit worse – I am unsure what is causing all the browning on the leaves. Could be sun burn, but I am honestly not sure. That is a pretty big pot for those two plants. I would focus on saving the larger one in that pot, but maybe downsize the pot a bit when you put it in new soil. Again cut off the leaves with brown at the base near the soil. You could try and save the small one. Maybe cut off everything but the new growth and the one leaf that has the least amount of brown – so it has enough green left to continue growing.

These plants like shade! I have mine near a north facing window that doesn’t get a lot of sun and it loves it there. I would make sure they are getting zero direct sunlight, nor too much heat.

They can also tolerate their soil getting pretty dry, so don’t overwater. Better to underwater than overwater. I don’t even drench mine when I water it, and it is still super happy. But I would not wait until it wilts to water either. I would give a good water right after repot and then let the soil dry out a bit before watering again.

Check for pests as it is hard to tell from this photo if that is an issue, but otherwise I think these tips might help.

Op, I added onto someone else’s comment but I realized something else. If you clean up all the plants (get rid of old dirt, cut back old leaves with clean scissors) you could put them all in the same pot! They are just the right size if you put them near each other in the same pot, the roots will work with other roots and quickly start producing new growth! Make sure the dirt is closer to the top of the pot. Also, make sure the base of the plant is lower in the dirt. Notice how your plants are up out of the dirt higher than this, pictured? Leaves can blacken from overwatering and being unprotected.
