Around 5 months ago my mom bought a moss terrarium and the person who sold it just said to mist it everyday, which she does, but it’s not doing so hot. It gets a few sprays of filtered water a day and sits under a terrarium light and that’s its only real light source. I used to work in a greenhouse but never worked with moss so I don’t really know how to help her. I just completely hydrated the soil and it’s doing a bit better, but I’m not sure if I should remove the dead looking moss. Any advice?

I have kept some moss and noticed it loses its nice appearance when it grows in length. Consider giving it a trim and see how that looks.
If it is winter where you, and the heat is running, that could be drying out the topmost part. Also, moss has cycles of green and brown so it may be natural
It may be rather challenging to keep moss in an open terrarium indoors like this. Maybe make a lid with a small ventilation hole to increase the humidity?
