  1. I was just at Longwood Gardens and noticed some of their outdoor planters were similar to ones you did this year with the greens , large eucalyptus leaves and red and yellow branches. (Love them!). It made me wonder if you had ever visited Longwood. I was shocked in today’s video when you mentioned you would like to visit there someday. I live in Delaware, not far from Longwood and I can tell you it’s beautiful no matter what time of year you visit! There are other DuPont estates nearby which also have gorgeous gardens. Highly recommend seeing these estates and gardens – you won’t be disappointed. Happy New Year to you and your family – love watching all your videos!

  2. Oh no! I noticed we just bought the same fridge you do and already having issues with the ice getting jammed… the Ball ones still working fingers crossed!!

  3. Speaking about English gardens. When you spoke in your last video about the neighbours shop, and removing the raised beds and the ghastly plastic underneath the gravel, well firstly, with that environmental disaster gone, I'm certain your ailing Arbor plants would revive with normal soil microbial activity restored, and I also thought, what a perfect place to have a walled garden. Sorry, I can't help myself, I just love infrastructure.

  4. Laura: “I swear you get more experience with plants after you’ve killed a couple.” Me: Yes!! I’m truly an expert then because I’ve killed more than a couple.😂

  5. Talking about the greenhouse situation with the tropicals and dream stream running through it you should look at the Omaha Nebraska zoo butterfly sanctuary. They have an indoor sanctuary with very mature tropical plants floor to ceiling with thousands of species of butterflies flying freely. They have water features and it feels amazing in there and the air is so clean it was truly amazing.

  6. Happy 10 years Laura and Aaron!🎉 I've been a faithful watcher since 2016…I think. Your channel is a daily ritual for me, often to the detriment of my personal discipline, but it is my guilty pleasure. I love how it feels like you are talking directly to me and although I live in a different growing zone (10) I've learned so much. It's like having a buddy where you help each other. I'd love to think I helped you too (look inside that rolled up towel and you WILL find the missing washer).

Here's another tip…I splurged on that green-handled box cutter a few years ago and I love it! You should carry that in your store. It would make a great gift item!

  7. Try CBD tincture for sleep…" Just brands" CBD full spectrum is one that is 100% natural and just one drop on the tongue before bed. I know you're not too keen on cannabis but the CBD is very helpful

  8. The Gwen rose garden in Eugene Oregon is so pretty in the summer. My favorite place for history and beautiful.

  9. No, you don't need 2 varieties of avocadoes for them to fruit. You should do some research and I would definitely NOT recommend the company that you used. My neighbors used the same company and both their trees died. For reference go to Laguna Hills Nursery and watch the videos by Gary Matsuoko. He tells you step by step what to do. I have a 13 foot tall seedling that I will be trying to graft scions on this spring..That would be an interesting experiment for you to try!

  10. Laura, how and where you spend your very hard-earned money is your business. We do, after all, live in a free part of the world. Your grace in dealing with such downright rude and intrusive questions never fails to impress the socks off me! Consider me irritated on your behalf😆🤨😆 I wish you and your family health, happiness and all good things in the coming new year and beyond. Keep on gardening in the free world!!!!

  11. Apple cider vinegar in a cup near problem, then you can put those mice sticky boards you can buy at Walmart for fruit flies maybe it would work on that insect. A plumber told me about that.

  12. You can try using cheap cinder blocks and stack them to the height you want and cementing them together. Then use the beautiful brick facade to cover it. That’s inexpensive. You guys with Paul and Bethany could do that.

  13. FUNGUS GNATS😖 – I did get rid of mine completely this fall.🙌🏽 Haven't seen one so far this winter.
I used the mosquito bits tea for 2 waters (2 wks) back-to-back and used the Zevo Blue Light Trap from Lowe's.
That thing attracts everything flying around the house!! I keep it plugged in at all times but at nighttime it must look like an Anglerfish in the deep ocean trenches lol.🤭👌🏽

  14. Thanks for another great video! I think you should take your down time and gave some fun..even though Benjamin in school..I'm sure he's very good with his studies and could easily catch up on anything he misses. My dad had an excavation-septic business in the valley and our vacays were usually in winter as summer "gotta make hay while the sun shines."

  15. I saw a kitchen design with an attached conservatory that looked like a natural wood and glass Hartley. It had a small koi pond at the farthest edge of the kitchen and a wood stove closer to the dining room/food prep area. Trees planted in the floor. Lots of natural wood countertops and trim. Brick floors.

  16. I would think you could do those pillars in concrete that is stamped / stained and save a ton of money and still would look gorgeous.

  17. I think I have to go back and watch. I spent Christmas Eve at family friends. I ate one piece of fudge. Then 1am Christmas morning headed to the ED. Got my gallbladder out at 10am. Caught a cold in the hospital went home at 4pm. Today I turned a corner. Feeling good and excited to watch garden answer.

  18. Wow Laura! What a humble answer to such a rude question. Here in New York, the response would have been much different. Lol, you've taught us so much and not just about gardening. Love ya!

  19. I’ve had issues with my African violet for ever then I placed it on the window sill facing North and it’s been blooming since September. It’s in a plastic pot with a plastic jar cover as a saucer about half an inch wider than the pot. I water it once a week from the bottom filling the little saucer full. It’s not a pretty look but the flowers blooming beautifully.
