  1. That's really cool!! We love mushrooms. You mentioned as a meat alternative, it's also a good meat topping.😂.

  2. Do you do consulting?
I’m starting a backyard vegetable garden in North Austin and have zero experience going in. Would love some coaching, help planning, scheduling what to plant when, how much to plant, when to harvest, rotate, etc.
Grateful to have found your content. Looking forward to following along. Wealth of knowledge. Thanks for creating and sharing!

  3. Y'all, I just checked out the Central Texas Mycological Society website she mentioned in the video, and they are doing a mushroom walk Dec 31st in San Marcos. I signed up so fast!

  4. Thanks so much for this, I already connected with the Bastrop Botanical Gardens and did my first pickup on Saturday! I’m also getting some friends together to volunteer for deliveries to sites when they need help. What a fantastic, fun opportunity for community building.🌈❤️

  5. Great Videi!!
MORE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THESE MUSHROOMS!!!

I've been collecting mushroom blocks from local professional mushroom growers for the past 2 years!
It's a really great way to build your soil!
And it's nice to have the mushrooms that grow off the blocks too!

But this year, the professional growers aren't simply leaving the blocks out in the parking lot for the general public to pick up like they used to.

Instead we now have set an appointment date, & be able to pick up a whole pick-up truck load of blocks.

I suppose that's a better system for the growers, but it's sorta been an issue for me…
I am already a member of The Central Texas Mycology Society, so setting an appointment is not a problem.
    I would be glad to!

The thing is, this year my really old pick-up is in no shape to drive down into Austin. Which just means I haven't been able to pick up any used blocks this winter, and I'm really missing having them!

I live in The Hill Country just West of Cedar Park, (just outside of Austin)
and if there's anyone near me who has a pick-up truck, and wants to go get some of these great soil builing mushroom blocks,
    PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!
Just comment here & we can work it out from here!!

I would LOVE to get some mushroom blocks asap!!!

It really IS the perfect weather for fruiting mushrooms right now!
Just yesterday I harvested THREE big Wild Lions Mane growing from a stump in my yard!!

    I just love mushroom season!!!

  6. I love mushrooms! Portobello to be exact. I have always wanted to learn how to grow them. They are great meat substitute and super delicious! 😋 🍄‍🟫

  7. Cool. We don't have anything like that here in Orange County. 😢
I would love a tour of your new garden. Did you already do a tour and I missed it somehow?

  8. My mother died last Friday 13th, she loved green stuff. She at one time had worked to get an orchid named after her. But I only have what needs nothing but a little water now and then. You and "your mother died 7 years ago video" landed in my lap. I can't keep up with her much less you. THANK YOU for your work to honor your Mother.

  9. I just started using mycelium from north spore to build up my soil health! I love it so excited to see the results and hey if I get 🍄 bonus right!?!

  10. Thanks for sharing! I just signed up for newletter. I'm in Temple, Tx but go to Austin fairly regularly. I'll be trying mushroom blocks to inoculate my compost pile ❤

  11. Thanks for the video! It reminded me that Gardopia Gardens in San Antonio is one of the distribution centers for the mushroom blocks AND they have volunteer Saturdays so you can go volunteer at a community garden and get some blocks, too!

  12. One question, where I live we don’t have this operation and I am considering doing the 50 piece pick up for my community if I do decide to do it do I have to pay $5 per bag of mushrooms?

  13. Probably why this popped up I was curious of one could use them in the pompost pile..but getting them to grow is a good idea to
