Cold house and placed by heater, prob too much stress. Idk what to do, I've moved them into a new room without a draft (tho a bit colder) and indirect light but idk what else to do(I've had the pothos for like 3yrs, and small snake plant for like 4yrs, big snake plant only like 6 months, and cactus/aloe 2 yrs) The pothos has always been kinda leggy but now snapping off
I water the aloe/cacti like once a month, and the pothos maybe once a week. I'm don't let it drain and change the water consistently cuz I'm a fool, spider plant I water w pothos. They get a humidifier once in a while, but I feel like that has made them worse currently.
They have red/blue lamp at night, 4 hrs in warm months 8hrs in cold, but I just moved them to a room w more indirect light, so I was thinking of moving it down to 4 again? Is there hope for them?

Aloe wants more lights everything else wants more water.

  2. Everything seems to be pretty under-watered and even 8 hours is not enough light (everything looks spindly and have grown towards the light. I have mine on from 6 in the morning to 10 in the evening. Plants need rest so turn off your lights for at least 6 hours every night.

Also what kind of lights do you have? To me it looks like they’re not doing anything. If they work, the plants should grow pretty lush, have thicker stems (especially when they’re as small as yours).

So in summary, Get stronger full spectrum lights that are turned on for much longer (they also need to be pretty close to the plants so don’t place them too far away, 30 cm is probably max). And water them more often. You have small pots and it seems like a pretty airy soil mixture so they’ll dry out quicker. And if you have stronger lights (and closer) the plants will grow a lot faster and thus consume more water than now.

    More sun/light.

    And if possible more heat.

If no sun or heat, less less less watering. And when you do water, make sure it has worm casting or fertilizer.

Spider plant needs more water and more light. Assuming the planter has drainage holes in the bottom… when top 2in is dry, water slowly till water saturates soil and runs through the holes. Let sit 30min, repeat twice. Then let the lil guy sit, check it again in about 9ish days. Put in front of a north facing window, or get a full spectrum LED grow light off of Amazon, set to 8-10hrs/day.

ETA do the same for the pothos for both water and light, and aloe probably needs watered every 14-21 days, but when checking if it needs watered, you’ll wanna go at least halfway down the pot to see if it is dry enough..

  5. I was gonna say, they look pretty dry. that spider plant should at least perk up with a decent watering.

first, place them next to a window so they have direct filtered light on them for at least 6 or so hours a day, this will already improve their health 10 fold. secondly, keep them away from the heater and lastly ur soil looks SUPER dry, especially ur pothos, which prefers moist soil all the time and doesn’t really tolerate dryness

Are you able to give them smaller pots? They look like they’re dehydrated so you should water more but down sizing the pot would encourage more growth and prevent root issues plus look better aesthetically

They need fresh potting soil and adequate water

My spider plant and pothos look like that when they badly need water, try watering more often. The aloe though not so much. When watering, don’t go by a schedule (at least not at first), check the soil often with a finger or stick to see how dry it is. I would recommend bottom watering especially if they are underwatered right now cause really dried out soil can have a hard time holding onto water. Plants also get spindly when there isn’t enough light.
