My T. duratii has finally flowered! They are nice and fragrant indeed. Someone shared with me that the pup will develop next to the flower spike. When should I cut the flower spike off?

I would not cut the flower spike off. It will dry upon its own. Very pretty!

How long did it take to finally produce a flower? It looks great!

  3. If you are worried about giving all of its energy to produce offsets, trim it anytime. But I don’t know that it would save much energy. I would just leave it to dry normally (I leave mine on and only cut the old inflorescences when dividing clumps). But if you feel more comfortable thinking you are helping pup production by cutting it off, I would wait until the last flower is done.

Do not cut the spike off until it is fully dry.

If you leave it on you might even get seeds.

After this your Duratii will pup and you will get new Tillandsia
