Hi, this Swiss cheese plant did not look like this a month ago. My fiancé’s mother died back in mid October due to an unexpected complication from cancer. This was one of the last few things she bought as a gift to herself I just watered it, but I need to know if and how to propagate it. There’s new growths here and there. Also, this plant did not just die from neglect or water, there are three cats who have been nibbling on her plants her and there, but this plant has had it the worst.

Plant has been getting good indirect light.

  1. I would try to remove her from the decorative pot and check if her pot does have drainage holes. If no holes, I would suggest to repot her in a proper one.
When repotting I would check also the roots. Soil looks a bit too wet which is normal considering she has no leaves and can’t properly process substrate’s moisture.

If there’s new growth, there’s hope. Give it plenty of light in a nice warm spot. You may lose a few stems but hopefully at least one will survive. Be sure not to over water at this point.
Might be worth seeing if you can fabricate some kind of cloche for it from a large clear plastic bottle or something to give it as much protection as possible especially if cats are likely to enjoy a nibble!
    Fingers crossed for you!
