I have a lanky jade plant and it’s the middle of winter right now, averaging 8 degrees outside so I have this guy under a brand new grow light I just got yesterday. I only inherited this plant recently and got him looking like this and I’m wondering what the best approach to taking care of him at this point would be? I water between it drying out, but I’m a newbie with plants and can tell the length of the stems might pose problems this winter as he’s already drooping:/ pls pls help

Jade plants are considered temperate plants (seasonal), as opposed to most houseplants, which are tropical and will grow year round. If you are seeing active growth and this is in a bright location, then you can trim. If you’re not seeing growth, I would wait until there’s more light in the spring. 💚

Absolutely! Indoor plants can be pruned back any time of the year.

Jade will grow under any half-decent grow light. Wouldn’t hurt to wait a few days before cutting while it adapts to the new light, but you could probably trim a jade and stick it in the basement for the winter (but don’t do that).
