I was gifted a small lemon cypress about a month ago. I have a south facing balcony (southern hemisphere) and it was doing really well. The balcony gets very little direct light but indirect light almost all day.

However we had a heatwave (35-40°) start about a week ago, and it rapidly dried up.

I was watering and misting it once a week before the heatwave, but once I noticed it turning a little brown I increased it to every other day and moved it further back on the balcony. However, it's now gone completely crispy.

I've just moved it inside next to the balcony door in an attempt to resuscitate it, but I have no idea if that's possible anymore?

I fertilised it when I first got it, as I repotted it, and I've just fertilised it again as a last ditch attempt. The pot it's in has drainage fyi

The only salvageable items are the bow and the pot. Sorry… 🙁

Sorry OP. Same thing happened to me. I think it might not be your mistake- sometimes browning starts in nursery and is not visible when buying. Mine dried up too with no particular reason or change in weather / care. I think lemon cypresses are quite sensitive and in my experience small tiny plants are extra hard to keep alive.
