Did you know you can grow tropical plants in a DIY mini greenhouse made from something you might already haveโ€”or can get for free? Let me show you how I turned a repurposed item into the perfect tropical seed-growing greenhouse! It creates a warm, humid environment for seeds like mango, soursop, and custard apple.

The best part? You can often find these for free or cheap on places like Marketplace, so this project is super affordable and beginner-friendly!

  1. You could also add a grow light and heat pad for cold climates or winter! Check out the description for more info on my garden zones etc. What have you repurposed for the garden??? let me know below ๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŒฑ

  2. What a great idea, thanks Holly. Iโ€™m definitely going to try this! ๐Ÿ‘ Are the mango seeds from mangoes you have bought from the supermarket and eaten?

  3. Awesome idea! Would love to try it (though I don't have the space for a large tree, unless I plant it in one of my families gardens haha!) Do they prefer full sun when bigger? Or is part shade better.

  4. Love your idea. Shared it to benefit some cold weather friends, some of who are looking of ways to keep certain plants thriving indoors while it snows outside!

  5. I love the idea I've used the same fishtank for years and it mostly definitely works. It is in my bedroom by the southeast window and I'm able to use it all year long for many types of plants.

  6. You should check out getting a wax piston for your greenhouse, it's an old non-electric tool that opens a greenhouse door or window automatically when it's hot and closes when it's cool, using the physical expansion and contraction of wax in a tube based on local temperature.

  7. Great idea Holly! Would love to know your seed raising mix details. Enjoying your channel, cheers from Melbourne ๐Ÿ˜Š

  8. Very cool. Yay on all your babies. Iโ€™ve got an old plastic dome from the 70โ€™s was a terrarium. Used for ferns, fish bowl and seed starter

  9. I got a free full glass commercial fridge which is perfect. It has lights shelves and fans which I going to use to circulate the air. I gutted the fridge guts at the bottom. When itโ€™s cold I will put a tub of rabbit manure in the bottom to heat up the unit. Itโ€™s also on wheels so I can have it indoors or outdoors if need be.

  10. Great idea with the fish tank. I have seen people repurpose BBQs with the glass front in them as miniature greenhouses too.

  11. Thank you for the info Iโ€™m trying to grow a couple mango seeds itโ€™s been a week or so nothing. Iโ€™ll try covering itโค I recently heard someone talk about Rollie pollies you call them slaters Iโ€™ve not tried this. She said cut into a radish and lay it in your plants it has to be cut. They supposedly love them and they gather there. just get rid of them and throw the radish back in your plant to catch more๐Ÿ˜‚
