I’m a new homeowner, and I am absolutely freaking out 😭. I live somewhere south of Tampa.
I don’t know what caused my lawn to be browning so severely ish in that circle, and also the browning in the area next to it.
Also in the lawn area by the curb – it’s starting to yellow! What can I do to save that area?
Also in the second to last photo: what could have caused the amounts of dirt? I hosed that area down, and it looks like whatever critter/pest that caused the mounds of dirt it is gone, but I am curious.
And the holes in the last photo?
I have seen a lot of squirrels in our yard. I can see them causing the holes, but what about the mound of dirt? Should I be doing something to deter the squirrels from going near my yard?
Thank you so much! 🙏🏻

You have a dog or a lot of dog walkers?
Your lawn has brown patch/aka large patch fungus. It’s prime season for this soil borne disease, and you will get it every year in the same areas. Cut off irrigation.

Moles?
Brown patch. I seen some of my neighbors who had beautiful STA yards this summer with it. Mostly floratam. I don’t have to worry about this as I have citrablue STA. Best solution to get ahead of it is treat your yard with heritage sc. it’s expensive but it’s a one hitta quitta
