Located in Melbourne, Aus. Laid this Sir Walter Buffalo turf from Bunnings back around mid-end of Sept. Didn’t seem to take particularly well like the other slabs I’ve laid in the past, but some parts are starting to thrive.
Used Scott’s lawn soil to prepare the surface and have done a couple of aerations.
Do I remove all the dead patches to let the established stuff spread out? Or just leave it be and it will sort itself out over time?

Hello!
Aerating is could but the small punctures do not adequately break up the thatch layer which will eventually suffocate the soil and create less ideal growing conditions.
Rather than removing dead patches as suggested, use a vertimower/dethatcher to break up the dead thatch then overseed. The thatch that remains creates habitat for microbes and will eventually decompose to soil.
It’s likely that it was left a bit too long at the Bunnings store.
Good luck!
