Hey Luke. As a small home gardener, it is encouraging to see individuals grow their dreams.
Have you considered putting in a small “hands on” garden to maybe allow those young gardeners out there learn tricks and techniques of gardening. I have always tried to include my daughters in our garden and now my oldest, at 26 years old, has a couple raised gardens and a small patch for potatoes.
make sure you put fish in the pond – instant fertilizer!
Are these full sized trees?
Luke you have to grow blueberries , they love sandy loamy soils with a little acidity. I have some growing in my side yard and they are worth more than money to us because we never spray them with anything and they make delicious berries every yr. I only prune mine every two yrs so they aren't hard to maintain.
Would love a dedicated Peony garden. They love cold weather, live fo decades. Very beautiful flowers, roots can be divided after a few years. Wish I lived closer, I would volunteer to work in the gardens. Love this project so much ❤️
Your plans are incredible. Enjoying your progress!
Very excited for you and your family. This is your reward for caring for the heirlooms and being an honest business man. All this was recognized and you were blessed. Can't wait to take this journey with you.
I bet everytime Luke is editing a video and listens to the playback, he gets goosebumps from his farm being ultra quiet. lol
Totally awesome Luke! It’s cool that you’re filming this with the drone too, to see the vast amount of property. Thank you for sharing your plans and tips.
You all rock..the plans are great..gonna order seeds o ce postal restarts😮😂❤❤
Are you going to tie down the greenhouse in case of strong winds?
I’m enjoying tracking your progress with the farm. Keep it up!
It's looking so beautiful. Very exciting!
Once your fruit trees are large enough, will you take cuttings to self-root and expand those tree varieties?
Great plan to include pear trees, I have found they require far fewer chemicals than apple trees.
So so awesome, Luke! Do you plan to make the farm your home one day? Possibly after you buy the remainder of the acreage? I assume that the additional land has a house.
Will you have partridges for your pear trees,😊❤
🔥 Excited about pawpaws! 🤩 😋
Any plans for an Apple/Fruit tree centered guild?
American chestnuts would be a great addition to the farm, just make sure that they are blight resistant variants and you plant some Asian chestnuts, that have been spritsed with alcohol (beer would work) to eliminate most of the blight, nearby so as to cross pollinate
I live fairly close by, I would like to come out and buy some of your heirloom apples when they're ready (so that I can plant the seeds and grow them myself, crossbreeds are acceptable)
Have you looked into the approach at Mirror farm in Quebec? Planting in trios not monoculture, Stephan S.has many videos illustrating the benefits.
