So thankful for this information! So excited for your decision to come back full time!❤
Dominique. Could you do a talk on oil pulling please and mouth microbiom.
Didn't enjoy today's podcast. Dominique, you look very tired and wearing your hair that way makes you look older.
Dominique, may I ask what ring you are wearing on your pointer finger?
I absolutely enjoyed this! Thank you Dominique, for having her on! She is great!
Blessings to you ❤ Dominique, Dr. Sabine Hazen is a gastroenterologist, Microbiome expert, and she is awesome. She would be a great guest.
I think this conversation is amazing. Thank you sooo much for your time. 😊
Dominique. Please look into Lisa from Peaches skincare. She is a 40 year holistic aesthetician that can change anyone's skin to the point where no foundation is needed. She has so much skincare info that is invaluable to us women over 50 who want to stay beautiful.
Súper 💯👍🏻
$$ Functional Medicine needs to be more affordable and accessible to ALL people. Price quotes of actual Functional Med. Doctor near me: 1) $750 for a 2 hr appt with Functional Med Doc. to review lab work results and supplement plan, 2) to even book a "lab work appt" it will be $250 up front cost first. 3) they don't take insurance (I file it myself) BUT this particular office stated most insurance "possibly" will cover some not all of lab work, 4) the $250 that they will collect from me UPFRONT will go towards uncovered blood work lab costs and towards my $750 (1st appt) with Functional Med Doctor to review lab results OR… or lastly 5) another option is if I can't afford the $750…then I can instead go to the Medical ASSISTANT of the Functional Med Doctor for $550 to review my lab work. AND all these costs (upfront appt, labs, 1st appt lab results review) DO NOT include the costs $ of SUPPLEMENTATION or Hormone(s) needed. WHO can afford all this? Health is Wealth. Ladies…please consider using your platforms and connections to create grants and scholarships, cost solutions for ill patients who really need access to this care. Thanks for reading. 🙏
Dominique, what an eye opening video, on such
an important health topic.❤
Love this. You look great! Thanks Dominique
Loved this topic! I'm hopeful for the future of this country with an emphasis on improving health.
Such valuable information! thanks for sharing💝💕
Very important information. ❤ so true. Didn't see her links.
Boring
She is fantastic! Really easy to understand 😊
It’s so important we own our health, as we discussed. Thank you for this episode. I really learned the gaps in healthcare over the last 2 years when I started having recurrent acute pancreatitis attacks. I ended up having 8, 7 of which were 7 months in a row. I mentioned to my gastroenterologist that each attack coincided with my period. I was told each time it was just a coincidence. I knew it wasn’t. I did research and found forums of women and medical papers documenting this. I passed it all onto my gastroenterologist, who continued to ignore this. After my last attack, my gastroenterologists intern came to see me in hospital, as the senior gastroenterologist was running behind. I begged and pleaded and provided my research showing there’s a link. Months later I ran into the intern when I was in the hospital for a procedure, and he walked over to me to tell me not only did he appreciate that I provided him with this information but he was doing a presentation to all the interns about the link. If it helps one other woman who goes through the same thing I will be so happy.
As I was going through all of this I kept telling my gastroenterologist, my general practice doctor and even nurses that something else was going on. My legs would collapse randomly, I would lose strength in my arms and I was having severe memory issues and issues talking as words would get jumbled together. I was repeatedly told my body was just tired, or if I did convince them to do a test they just tested basic things and said “see, there’s nothing wrong”. Months later I started getting pins and needles down the entire left side of my body, including my face. I was rushed to hospital assuming I’d had a stroke, which I knew I didn’t. Once tests confirmed I didn’t it was like the doctors lost interest. The pins and needles progressed to the right side and random pain attacks all over of body and I was finally referred to a neurologist and diagnosed with full body chronic neuropathic and functional neurological disorder. My neurologist believes both of these are a direct result of the repeated severe acute pancreatitis attacks I was having. He’s also informed me that both these new diagnosed conditions will never go away. It’s frustrating that patients know something is wrong but doctors ignore patients until they are unable to ignore us anymore, and it’s potentially too late to resolve anything.
Thank you for this topic! ❤it’s very helpful!
Is there a correlation of getting arthritis in the hip area to menopause? Also, is a fatty liver stemming from menopause? TY for these informative videos.
Andrea is a joy. Thank you for sharing her info with us!
Life changing information! ❤ Maybe more detailed information and breakdown of practicing functional medicine.
Dominique are you okay, you look sad and tired in this podcast!!and your hair ,not like you!!good podcast though.
Loved today’s podcast ❤❤❤❤
Best to talk to your endocrinologist
This could not be more relevant to the modern woman who knows her healthcare is in her hands and managed by herself. It takes having a GP and a functional med practitioner absolutely. Thank you for continuing to have content that is empowering and so helpful. Also I love your hair here- so fun how versatile your style is.
God gave us food to enjoy. It is a blessing, do not take it for granted. I like how Andrea goes in depth to really find out what the problem is. People don't care how much you know until they how much you care ❤
Best informative podcast you've had🎉 thank you❤
Great podcast!
I went to an ENT one time because I was having trouble with my ears plugging, and I said to him that I thought it could be from dairy. He looked at me and in a very condescending voice said what makes you think that? I said, because I live in my own body!!
Needless to say, I never went back to him again!!!
I've got my first appointment with a functional nutritionist tomorrow morning after dealing with severe psoriasis for the last 4 years. I'm so excited to learn more about my gut biome and how my story with Strep throat leading to a tonsillectomy when I was a young girl to how this impacts the psoriasis I am dealing with now. My GP is useless. I had to look elsewhere to get individual care plan and not just take meds to suppress my immune system.
Great podcast
👍💯🌺
Great podcast! Very interesting and packed with information.
I’ve often wondered about my thyroid as several years ago my doc confirmed goiter and a nodule or node (don’t remember which it is). Haven’t been back to get more tests but after this podcast I’m reconsidering.
As I get older the more I’m starting to really pay attention to my body and ask “why” I’m feeling like this or that. The body is so complex!
Thanks for posting this, Dominique!
Great video!! Love your hair style today Dominique❤
Excellent Podcast with Andrea. So many people are happy not getting info, I believe, because it may mean they have to give up certain foods, or get up and exercise, or just “think”! This was so good and needed in today’s world which is full of stress, junk food, processed, on & on. Very informative. Thank you.
I cannot do this anymore Dominique.
Dominique, I’m grateful for all the awesome content you share! I’d like to ask where your red top is from? Thank you
My diet is limited thanks to IBS and diabetes. It's a tricky combination that challenges my endocrinologist, GI doc, and RDN.
I love hearing about functional medicine please do more with different speakers 😊
One huge problem is most insurance companies do not cover functional medicine and it’s too expensive for many to pay out of pocket.
Can you interview Jamie Kern Lima please?
Sometimes you have to ask your doctor to run the lab work you need. I have been suffering with cold hands and red face feels like a fever but sometimes no temperature. When I went to the dr my temp was 99.6 but she said 100.4 is considered a fever. I asked if I could have a full thyroid blood work (I'm on medication)and also vitamins because I take a lot. Long story short my Vitamin B9 & B12 levels were through the roof so I stopped taking them.its been 9 days I've been off all vitamin B complex and today is the first day so far I haven't had a fever. Very good episode.
I love learning and this was very informative. Thank you.
What a joy and blessing! Thank you both ❤️
I have low thyroid and Addisons disease which is a rare autoimmune condition. I see a functional medicine Dr as the Endocrinologist was more interested in using me as a lab rat then helping me. I’m very fortunate that my doctor has the same disease as me so he completely understands our daily struggle to live a normal life
I’ve been going to a functional medicine doctor for about 5 years, I’m 57. It’s 100% a partnership – I’ve been on compounded hrt for 5 years, started practicing intermittent fasting almost 3 years typically 16 -8 now that I’m maintaining, 80%+ whole foods my weight is on point, lost 35 pounds, my digestive health has never ever been better even in my 20s, was on powerful acid meds for as long as I could remember overall I feel pretty amazing – thankful ! – my focus now is bone health and resistance training as I have an osteopenia diagnosis.
You did not put any links to Andrea in your description like you said you would???
I was so excited to watch this podcast with two of my favorite role models! I took Andrea’s course in 2020 and have reinvented myself and created my health coaching practice where I help women in midlife navigate their ever changing health and weight loss challenges. I’ve learned so much from both of you about health and finding my purpose to serve others! So grateful to you both! 💕
Dominique, initially my thought was “oh no, another long hour”, skip skip. But, as a video continued this really caught, sparked my interest. I did notice, with family members, friends, the doctors were using the words or word. “Protocol“. That in itself had just made me scream “we are not identical robots! There’s got to be more than protocol!” Hate that word. It should be bioidentical to each individual. Loved this podcast. The best I’ve seen as yet!!!
