I have never been so proud of 64/45. When it’s 34 degrees outside with windchill at 23 at 1030am. Zone 7b.

  1. That’s pretty impressive. The vpd is kinda throwing me off tho. I thought it’d be higher at 45%. I’m guess it’s the temp difference, I’ve never dealt with lows like that.

What hardware are you using to monitor the conditions?

  4. So far so good! Had a heater failure a few weeks back, but woke up to my alarm and the backup heater was quickly dusted off. 👍

This is from two winters ago, and probably my proudest moment. Graph shows a 24hr period. Lower green line is outdoor ambient, red center line is the greenhouse. Windchills reached -30F. 🌵❄️

We’ve had several days in a row of temperatures in the teens in middle Tennessee. I had to put a propane heater in the back of the greenhouse last night when the temperature inside went down to 34 degrees (outside was 15 degrees). Ours is a geothermal greenhouse. I was hoping it would do better.

I’m a rookie, so I’m still trying to figure out how do keep my 30′ Planta greenhouse insulated. There are still places where I can feel cold air getting in.

Ours is set to ~72 F in day, and ~55 F at night, with outdoor temps in the 30s during the day and low 10s overnight.

Here’s the chart for this week! Had a few blips where it dropped to ~50 F overnight. Probably when the exhaust kicked on to purge some of the steam heat, but other than that it’s been consistent. The perks of working at a big greenhouse university and not having to worry about heating bills 😀
