    I had no idea Jim was so sick! He certainly has had a good time keeping everybody full of tea and biscuits and sandwiches 🥪! And each week it seems like he’s able to do a little more and a little more! God bless you guys for always keeping him safe but busy! He’s such a delightful man and I’m sure knowing that Jean will have a space that’s warm and safe is so important to him!

    A can of worms like this would have absolutely floored (and possibly bankrupted) me. I'm sorry you've been getting stressed to the point of mouth ulcers like this Ben, but very glad you have your dad and Uncle Colin to work through the project with you, they seem very competent. You're all doing an amazing job for lovely people, I hope you are very proud of the work you are doing, you really should be.

    For those of us not in the construction or renovation business, could you explain the need for a soakaway? I understand that it is a drainage system, but what was the need for it in this case? Is it common for homes in cities in the UK to have soakaways?

    I am astounded by the huge amount of manual labor. Working with concrete is no joke. When I was 43 I helped pour a patio. I was the one working in the concrete. Until you do that, there is no way you know how tiring it is. Jim is such a sweet soul. He makes you all tea and food. He cares deeply for his wife. Life can be such a struggle. Thanks to all that helped this week. The laughs were great. Thanks to the butcher, meat is so expensive and so yummy!
