    Nasturtiums do reseed themselves, although mine did not come up until late summer, and didn't have time to bloom. So I'll have to plant some come spring. Purple cone flowers are perennials, so you don't have to worry about saving seed. I only seed save my annual seeds.

    My grandmother had trouble walking and I remember her giving me zinnia seeds to plant so she could see them out her window. I may have been 5-6 years old. She also taught me how to cut dandelion greens for her. I’m 64 now and can see that’s where my love for gardening started.💕

    I loved hearing about your wonderful seed order. A woman and her daughter who live along the route of my daily walk grows a long wide row of mixed cosmos and sunflowers. It often grows to 6 feet tall. Our village sidewalk runs along the bottom of her front yard and this 30-foot flower “hedge” creates the most beautiful privacy barrier that sways so peacefully in the breeze. While you had drought we had so much rain this summer in New England that I didn’t know if their planted sunflower and cosmos seeds would make it. But by mid-Sept it appeared. As lovely as ever.

    I saved a few seeds from my flowers. I did have a couple nasturtiums reseed themselves. My flowers didn't do as good this year since it was so dry. Love MI gardeners seeds and channel. Seems like a great guy. Yall have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving.

    You made me cry there at the end. Such a sweet story that Corey shared with you and made you think of your mother gathering seeds and then planting the flowers. Made me think of my mother and how much she loved her flowers. I miss her so much!

    Just popping in to let you know that we used Matt's Deer Ham recipe for our ribeye roast for Thanksgiving today. Our daughter doesn't eat turkey, so we always have to think of a different meat. I was willing to use venison, but my city born husband wasn't ready for that, so we got a nice ribeye roast and the recipe works wonderfully with beef! Maybe I'll convince him to try venison one day! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your beautiful family! 💗💗💗

    Yes, I've been saving seeds, too. It's a satisfying activity for me. Bit I also buy seeds, and I have been getting them from Luke at MIGardener, also. His prices are excellent! I'm a bit of a junkie when it comes to seeds, too. I did try the Wisconsin pickles last year, but I don’t think they got a fair shot. The weather was wonky, and they hated the heat, so I never got any. I may go back to the Marketmore '76 cucumbers next year.
