Our focus turned to the neglected vegetable garden—a must-have for any French farm. Years of overgrowth left the garden full of massive tree roots, but with the wheel loader in action, we cleaned it out, plowed the soil, and trimmed trees. Now we’re excited to prepare for spring planting!

Of course, no renovation week is without challenges. Our wheel loader’s starter motor finally gave out, delaying progress and forcing us to shift gears. We tackled other projects, like replacing the final door and window in the house, ticking off satisfying items from our to-do list.
Walking the dogs in the stunning countryside reminds us why we chose this property. The scenery and tranquility make every bit of hard work worthwhile. We’re now shifting focus to the next phase of our renovation: transforming the barns into apartments. With the renovation budget running low, we’re making every decision count.

The arrival of the new starter motor was a game-changer! Bram quickly installed it, and the wheel loader is back and better than ever—just in time for a special event. We’re hosting a party for Nox and invited some neighbors to celebrate with us. With outdoor lighting and a cozy setup, we’re ready to enjoy this magical moment in our farmhouse journey.

Join us for a week filled with renovation challenges, stunning scenery, and preparations for our first big celebration at the farm! 🌟

  1. I love this vlog. I accidentally tested the french audio version of this video but this translation really miss the joy of your nice voices . Good job with the wheel loader that will help a lot. I am just surprised that you did not use this tools to remove the roots last weekend at the beginnning of this vlog …

  2. Again another productive week! Congratulations! Nox is growing so much! Love her chubby little face🤗💕

  3. We cannot believe you are going to clean out that shed and transform into a party venue in a week!
I thought I was driven…..but that IS impressive!

Yes Nox is getting more and more beautiful every week 🎉🎉🎉 see you

  5. I'm glad you're having good weather. It is currently -6.667° Celsius, here in Indiana, with snowfall.
I'd rather be in Charente. 🥶

  6. Now this episode had it all. Our always optimistic duo, sweet little Nox smiling to her viewers and a sponsor who gave some comfy chairs to the doggos. 🥰🥰😂😂

  7. I just love your vlogs. You’re both so positive and can fix anything that breaks. Nox is growing so fast and she is beautiful. Keep up the great work and hope you all have a great party for Nox 🥰🥰

  8. Fantastic vlog yet again! You with the chainsaw and Bram with his welder….perfect combos! Enjoy your party with your neighbours … Other than your neighbours have you met many people in the area? My partner and I just moved to a new home ( last July)…and have met many new friends….( and a few, because I told them of your channel and because we all share an interest in renovations, they have become subscribers to your channel….interesting to note, the one common comment from them is that they love your energy, your skills and your smiles.

  9. Hi. I ve been wondering and wondering, so now I am asking you. lol. So, why your parents not involved talk on video, I am sure many would love to meet them.

  10. So nice to see Nox. What a little cutie. Sorry about your loader, but you guys had it purring again (not surprisingly). Love the window you put in. Wow, but you guys certainly have tons of energy. Those chairs will be great to recuperate. It's enjoyable to watch you guys work. And each time I do, I get more impressed and amazed! Have a great weekend. Relax in your chairs.

  11. That must really feel good to get all those roots out of the garden. Will you need to improve the soil? And hanging doors. That has to be the house improvement that scares me the most.

  12. I’m beginning to think Bram can fix about anything! Nox has two wonderful dads. Your videos are so fun to watch. I look forward to seeing them each week. Have a great weekend!

  13. One thing about the two or I should say the three of you. Dad. Too. No moss grows under your feet. One thing breaks you guys work on something else. Amazing. Congratulations on the party. In the begging Simon told us again about the weather in November it was sunny. At the end we saw it pouring rain. Weather similar to here in Ohio. At least the garden area was done. You got to add a window and a door too. Hard working men. At least you did get a good rest in that new recliner chair. Very nice reward. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

  14. Nice legs. Can I guess what your favorite thing is? I was carrying a loaf of french bread the other night and realized I was holding it the same way as you do, and I chuckled. Great job on the door and window. Now they can be a snugglie this winter. Oh no the starter is the wrong color. You accomplished a lot this week.

  15. As always a joy to watch you. And Nox is so adorable too. I think that you lack some gear that is very useful for you two, and that is a full set of mac's and some good wellies. I think orange would be a good colour 😊. Till next time, have a nice week and good luck with the party 🎉🎉🎉. Greetings from Kenneth. 🇧🇻

  16. Bram Simon wat een snoesje jullie Nox echt n prachtkindje en ik zie wel jullie zijn geen stilzitters want er wordt hard gewerkt en het was weer een mooie vlog fijn weekend 👍👍👍👍

  17. Very beautiful daughter..both her Dad's get to do their favourite jobs: mechanic, wielding and chainsawing……lol….cool happy family….la joie familial…

  18. How did you guys decide on France? Why not Spain, Portugal or Italy? I am an US citizen and with the current "situation" in the states I have thought about buying a place in Italy. However, you guys make me think more about France.

  19. Okay…..several things this week. First, great work on prepping that garden, couldn’t believe all those roots! Second, looking forward to the ‘Nox Intro’ party, should be sweet and fun, I did love seeing her cute little chubby cheeks this week! ❤. And finally….so 9.7k subscribers? You are almost to that 10k mark 👏👏 so happy for you!!

  20. A great week again! Loved the “little touch with the hammer” haha it seemed very effective! Too bad it only worked once… loved seeing Nox, she has grown so much 😍

  22. If you cut a peach tree like this you can also plant a new one. By the way, YouTube shows how to prune peach trees.

  23. Midwest Family house is looking very good. Now the garden looks very good glad the doors and window are in. Got to see some Bakery that's good now a question how cold is your w i n t e r get.

  24. You two are so endearing. It is lovely to watch you interact with each other, but I wish I was there to help with your projects. I am a fairly new subscriber, so I have not been formally introduced to your parents/parents-in-law, but I look forward to that. (I suspect that they and I are peers in age.) Looking forward to more footage of Nox and the dogs, Leslie in Portland, Oregon, USA

  25. so wonderful beautiful video my best friends i love it see so nice make me all the time so happy ❤❤❤❤

  26. Midwest Family we don't want to spoil the party we don't think you should have a bunch of strangers around nox at this time here we have a lot of sick people and if one of those people around n o x had a germ they might make her sick

  27. Always more progress which is so nice. The wheel loader came in handy for removing those tree stumps. What will you do with all the tree roots and branches, are you able to burn them outside in a bonfire during the winter season to get rid of them? It looks like your garden soil mass dropped half a foot with all the tree and roots removed, will that cause flooding problems there or will it actually be helpful as a way to retain water for the plants in the summer? Your sponsor this week should be useful with a nice desk chair for when you edit videos and a rocker/recliner for when you’re feeding Nox or she can’t sleep and needs to be rocked back to sleep. Have a lovely week.

  28. I love you guys and you’re indomitable energy to to complete your tasks no matter the obstacles. Love from Denver.
