   Hi Robbie. We are going down to 32 tonight so I have been getting everything ready for a freeze. Your garden is looking beautiful as usual. You have been busy. Your little ponds look so bare right now. I don't think I've seen them like that.

    Robbie I did the same thing with the bulbs! Lol! I bought all those bulbs at the 99cent store. Do you think if I put the bulbs in the fridge and took them out in about 2 weeks they might think they went thru a frosty spring??

    I remember planting with my grandmother and when she was going blind, we were planting bulbs and, I noticed she was planting them upside down( she was a lifelong gardener and had always planted bulbs) I mentioned it to her and she said "Fix them and don't tell anyone!LOL!😂😂

    MAKE SURE that the horses were not fed with Hay that was sprayed with Grazon Herbacide, or any type of "forever chemical. It will kill your entire garden in you mix it with your existing soil. Many gardeners recommend letting the manure "cure" then mix a few cups with soil and plant beans. If the leaves curl the hay was contaminated. DON"T MESS WITH HORSE / COW MANURE

    Hey Robbie, and Get Well, Gary! So, I've been gardening in totes for five years now, some in New Mexico desert sun and now back in West Texas. I was surprised when here in TX my colored totes started disintegrating quickly–less than a year–not in full sun, either! Sterilite brand. These are the ones that were either purple or magenta, so maybe it's the color? Yes, I kept them wet with soil in them. The larger grey ones or blue are OK. The white buckets are OK, but the colored ones fell apart. The things that seem to be indestructible are the smaller Husky totes from Home Depot. They are black but I've been spray painting them. I wonder if the paint makes any difference? Anyway, love growing in totes and stacking some things. Still don't have a dog kennel (LOL) but am building myself a garden house that'll do the same thing. Happy Thanksgiving! bc

    I’m in Indiana. You have to dig up Gladiola’s if they get frost, they will not live or freeze. They will not live so I don’t know how cold you get but just a heads up.

    Used to have comments in my small pond, and I would go gather duck weed and bring it in and never lasted more than a day. They would completely decimated and eat it.

    I would put tulle over the tulip pots. Squirrels absolutely love tulips. They ate all my bulbs until I put tulle over then around the pots.

    I think the upsidedown planters in between the gray totes would work very well.

    You are going to LOVE those Gladiolas!! I remember the first time I planted some, about 30 years ago. I was thrilled with the blooms — they are such a different flower to grow. In your zone, you probably don't even need to lift the bulbs. I have to lift mine each year, same with Dalias.

    I want to do what you do and try container gardening. I have a question though. Is there a particular reason you don't use the clear containers? All of yours seem to be dark. Thanks for any help you can offer.
