I've never seen it planted so I'm not going to. – bummer!! would be more protected if so. cover with the cloth below 35 degrees, but would be happier in the ground regardless
Lovely β€
I live in 9a central Florida, and I planted a Norfolk pine after Christmas last year and it's thriving really well, it has doubled in size, but I do realize you are on the other coast. Just thought it might be worth a try. Love your gardening podcast, look forward to watching every day! Happy Thanksgiving!
P.S. We do occasionally go below 32 degrees.
Janey, I just noticed how much white hair Jason has on the sides of his head!!! So distinguished. What do you think?
You can move the salvia out on the garden Janey!
Janey! Love this evergreen vibe. I saw this idea that if I ever had this set up it would be awesome to use. They just put grapevine wreaths over the plants and it sits on the rim of the pot. Looked so cute. Anyway, love everything you do and your joy is contagious β€οΈ
Hi Janeyβ£οΈ. The Norfolk Pine is small enough to move to the greenhouse on cold nights. I have one that lived indoors last year. This year it is thriving in my greenhouse in zone 8b.
I see the difference in front of your office, Monty has grown up this year!! Ha! Ha! You choice of evergreens and the placements are amazing! You and Jason are the greatest!!
I've had a beautiful Norfolk Pine for 3 yrs now, and im in zone 8b. I bring it in once the temps drop below 55 at night and use it as my Christmas tree! I love it! π
Happy Thanksgiving!
My salvia comes back each year. I just cut back. Funn bees are still on mine too. I am 7A. We get our firstfreeze next week. Sad
Hi Janey. I think a really full Plain evergreen wreath would look beautiful on your office door with white Christmas lights around the door. the wreath and plants would compliment each other. Love your selection of "living Christmas trees".
Wow you need to empty all those pots and toss everything. They are beautiful but grown to their max.
Love your channel!
Have you tried overwintering your supertunias?
Mine always come back, 3 years in a row now,
It seems like a waste throwing them away. We are in Paso Robles CA, zone 8b I think.
You could cut salvia and make a beautiful bouquet for the bees. πππ
Awww itβs so pretty!! I love it! Definitely need lights, they are just so fun ππ And you can replant them in your garden! Iβm pretty sure that calculates as free in garden math π
The Norfolk pine will look Georgeous in your greenhouse β€οΈπ
I love the Camellia!
Here in FL zone 10 those Norfolk Island pines get 80 feet tall (and they're considered potentially invasive when planted in the ground)! They are so cute when they're small tho!
The front of the office came out nice! Have you thought about installing a cement slab as a patio?
Happy Thanksgiving from Texas!
So festive. Are you coming to the PNW NorthWest Flower Festival in February? Tickets are 50% off for black Friday through Dec 2nd. I got mine. I'm hoping to meet you and Katie from Hello Garden.

A wreath on the door? Looks amazing. Youβre very talented.
I saw those same βliving Christmas treesβ at our HD here in Clovis. I was so tempted to get them. Maybe Iβll need to do that.
Happy Thanksgiving β€οΈ
Hi Janey and Jason π Beautiful trees. Wishing you and family a Happy Thanksgiving π
Seems like everyone likes the idea of the Norfolk in the greenhouse…it would be pretty there with white lights…and safe.
I live 20ish miles down the road from you,I have a Norfolk pine outside in a pot for 2 years and it has done well in a bit of a sheltered spot. There are 2 Norfolk pines in my town that are in the ground. One of them is about 15β Tall. I bet you could grow one in the ground!
Love how everything looks β£οΈ it's easier now that you have help
If it gets to cold for the Plant it would be beautiful in ur Office or Greenhouse π₯°
So Beautiful π₯°
I over winter my pw annuals in my greenhouse.cut them back & they live in greenhouse fornwinter& come spring they come back just as beautiful.
I love watching you cut back your plants because it helps me not be afraid to cut back mine
Does "a good deal" have anything to do with "gardener's math?" Hahahaha! π€£Happy Thanksgiving Janey & Family π₯°ππͺ΄πͺ΄πͺ΄πͺ΄πͺ΄πͺ΄
Another way to bring in Winter interest would be to select very colorful pots to plant these plants in.
Norfolk pine looks beautiful β€
Protection available inside your greenhouse if need be π
Hi Janie, your Mystic Spires is a perennial here in North Texas, so I assume it would be for you, too. Mine blooms until we have a freeze. A superstar plant for sure! Love your climbing rose.
Hi Janie! I know you do not reply to comments but I thought I would give a suggestion on the stones in front of the door. Instead of 6 little stones, how about one big one that gives you a bigger landing pad and more of a vibe? I hope Jason sees this. Itβs nice to hear your thoughts on what we commentπ
Very nice! So neat to see what others do outside of zone 6 π
Winter blooming camellia are my favourite!! Shiny dark leaves, gorgeous bloomsππ
I liked the red ribbons! Nice placement, really balances sides.
O goodness wish i was closer mystic spires are perennials here in Texas. I know its probably to late but if you trim it wayyyy back and stick it in ground it may come back. β€ either way love the content keep pushing for your dreams
Looks wonderful πͺ΄π²β£οΈ
Hi Janey. Love what youβre doing in your garden. Just a thought, are you able to grow grass from your back porch to the office area to break up all that mulch. Maybe make a green path down to the greenhouse. Just a thought. Enjoy your ideas on your yard. Take care. Keep planting π»
