Laying Stone or cobble Stone only stops water seepage to the ground.
Consequence of this is , water doesn't flow inside the ground and water level or water table gets affected. Bad for environment.
Water accumulating happens too

One should look at the geographical condition of a place .
A place like Kerala, where rain is more ,if water seepage through natural procees is stopped or water seepage is blocked ,flooding happens ,water clogging happens.
In earlier days ,the Kerala houses were having thatched roofs ,then came concrete flat roofs, which later started with leakage and people started putting aluminium sheets ( that too thatched )
These days again the trend of thatched roofs have started understanding that flat concrete roofs are not good for a place like Kerala where it rains more .
Likewise ,earlier the open ground of all houses had no concrete laid or stones or cobble stone laid ,thus water never used to get clogged ,instead water seeped into the ground
These days ,stones laid with plastic laid beneath or under these stones and added with artificial grass are becoming a trend ,which is not at all environment friendly nor good for environment.
You being a consultant, should encourage environment friendly constructions and related landscaping .

Use pearl grass instead of that plastic grass. Even filling with small stones or sand is better than plastic. Never waste too much money on stones. Just use it for car path.
