  1. Hello,Mark. What to do if caterpillars attacking my outdoor potted olive tree? I pulled some off,but it seems like it spread

  2. I’ve had three potted olive trees, standard, around 15 years old in the North East and they’ve all survived several winters.. they’ve had temps down to -10 along with strong winds… no protection and all doing well

  3. Hi mark . Ive just wrapped up my standard olive, just in case. I dont think you will have any problem with your mature trees. It wouldnt be that easy to protect them at the size of your trees. Let them do their own thing.👍. Steve

  4. Would it be better to cover the watering pots just over winter ? Also I think you’ll be lucky having the sandy under soil.

  5. Had a olive tree here in Scotland for nearly 10 years now and never protected it once, it's been perfectly fine. Plus it is not as old as yours Mark. So bottom line your trees are under no threat. They are perfectly hardy as long as they don't become waterlogged and in that sandy soil you have, that is not going to happen.

  6. To my surprise we also had snow and frost, but my plants are still standing 🥳 but I’m wrapping them anyway just in case .

  7. My trees are young. I think they are 2.5 years old. So you think a long freezing time is not dangerous
