Would you ever consider filming one of your hair appointments in a vlog? And the stylist can explain how they dye your hair? Like what kind of dye you typically go with to cover your grays, and what other products they use, etc?
I’m considering getting mine dyed and I’m trying to learn about it, because I have quite a lot of gray and they’re long, and I don’t want to sacrifice my natural color in the process of having the gray dyed. Would love to see the process you go through and learn about the Aveda products they use at your appointments.

Not sure about the UK women’s healthcare but in America, when you’re starting a family, they tell you to get a Pap smear, try for a year and come back if you aren’t successful. I think this is such a disservice! Some things I wish I would’ve been told/encouraged to do was to get a 4-point hormonal panel, a thyroid antibody checkup, and while you’re at it, to test Al as well because you’re already testing right?
Again, take with a grain of salt but in USA healthcare, we have to advocate for ourselves way too much. Don’t let them push you into not taking these tests too, if you decide to look into them. I see these as preparation along with the wonderful vitamins you’re already taking!

Oh gosh, I just got to the part of the video where you said you were at the Hoxton. You're bringing back memories for me! When I lived in London (2017-2019), I would often go to the lobby of the Hoxton to have coffee and do my grad school work. I always loved that place. When I visited England for the first time in 2016, I envisioned myself hanging out there and doing work as a local in my future, and then it was real. Now, several years post-England-living, I get to be reminded of that life from your video. Thank you! i) I’m one of your non vegan followers who absolutely swears by several recipes in your cookbook and it really filled a gap in my repertoire cooking healthy vegan comfort food.
ii) that’s massively brave of you sharing the stuff about how you are dealing with your eating patterns. I gained loads of weight in my early 20’s because I got spiked with lsd and now have to take antipsychotics, it’s massively traumatised me over the years. The thing to remember is, literally no one I know, specially not women has a healthy relationship with food. Not my mum, not my husbands family, non of my friends, no-one! We live in such a toxic food and beauty standards environment. And genuinely it was brave of you to post what you just posted in this video, but finding peace with food isn’t a crime and if anyone gives you shit about it, it’s them, not you.
iii) I’m really loving the crossover seeing you hanging out with Gittermarie who is also someone I watch, like yourself, for general glamorising a sustainable lifestyle content. 😍

I actually really love your channel because I love ‘cozy’ content and you’re one of the few people within that genre who I feel isn’t promoting a consumerist lifestyle on this platform. This season I’ve unfollowed loads of channels, because of the many ‘halloween shopping’ vlogs people have been putting out, and it doesn’t feel good watching people buy large amounts of stuff they don’t need. I also just find it really irresponsible when people use their platforms that way. Thanks for being a good example!

Go ahead and mow your lawn, even if there’s leaves that will be very healthy for your grass to get them all mulched down in.
And yes, you definitely have to have help. Every fall I have someone come and edge, weed and mulch my beds.
You should have at least three inches of mulch around your plants, bushes, trees . Since it disintegrates during the winter, you need to add 3 inches in the spring.
Then in the spring about late March, I have someone come and cut the plants that you can’t cut in the fall like roses, hydrangeas, etc.
Then April comes and we get all the beds edged, weeded and mulched. I can basically keep up with a little bit of weeding here and there and if I want to move or add a plant. Plant things in pots .
From April to October, I have someone that comes every two weeks to mow trim and blow.
It’s not cheap to do these things, but you can’t do it all and then you get overwhelmed and then it starts looking really rough and then you get depressed.
You want it to look pleasing to the eye, so you will enjoy spending lots of time outside . ❤

I think what's also important is to remind ourselves that we are implementing more sustainable habits into our lives than most people in our communities do, at least here in the US! I put a lot of pressure on myself to be "perfect", but what does that mean exactly? And also, is perfect the goal? Just knowing that I am doing something that is having a positive impact and that it's more than the general population is what keeps the anxious thoughts at bay. I may not be perfect (and no one is), but I'm doing my best!
Maddie, I know you share a lot about struggling with weight, but do you deal with any health issues as a vegan? I do, and my weight, and there’s not many vegan YouTubers that have any problems. You’re very transparent and realistic

I’m a qualified nutritional therapist and I also love wild Nutrition!! Such lovely supplements. And well done for being so proactive about taking your supplements ahead of planning for a family. A lot of people don’t know that we should ideally start supplementing with folate or folic acid around three months before conceiving to help minimise the risks of certain birth defects. I wish more people knew this. Luckily this is on the government agenda as they have just announced that they are introducing additional fortification of folic acid to certain flours to try and help address deficiencies ❤

Wild nutrition may be better than many companies. But so few of their supplements are vegan! You have mentioned ones here that are not listed as vegan on their website.
Oh this made me do a little cry as it is so relatable. The thoughts about left over issues, concerns about “letting go on holiday” and then feeling like you’ve over done it and become very aware of your consumption when away, I always experience this, and I am 5 years out of therapy after 8 years in therapy for anorexia. I truly truly appreciate this honesty, it’s so relatable. You got yourself something you were excited for, there’s no shame in that.

Maddie! Definitely recommend getting some blood work to test basic hormone panel & ultrasound of ovaries/uterus before getting pregnant to see where you stand! Just found out closer to my thirties I have cysts & high testosterone because I never thought to check any of these things. (I’m vegan). It helps to know what our bodies need ❤
This is a very personal comment. A little tip of the fertility topic. If you're not doing it yet, try tracking your period over a few months (no need to comment here 🙂 ). Get an app and just follow the prompts by putting in the data. This will help you to get to know your body and your cycle better and I believe this is part of the reason why I was able to fall pregnant….at 38! 🙂 It is a journey so be mindful of your personal space and privacy. We are here to support you.
P.S LOVE SALT AND VINEGAR CHIPS! They are hard to get where I live (Austria). I'm not vegan but enjoy your channel for many reasons, not just food!
After listening to your open talk about food – I totally get it. I always over eat/over order when I am on holidays, because food is a love of mine and I like to indulge myself. However, I am talking from the perspective of never having to deal with a diet issue. I think it is really good that you are reflecting on your own behaviour, without being judgemental about it. Next time, you can pause before you order and reflect on this conversation.
I am someone with/recovering shopping addiction, it is the same thing, just in a different context. I try to give myself boundaries, but also allow myself to enjoy myself with some limited guilt free spending – and I think this can also be applied here. There is nothing wrong with not finishing your meal, you enjoyed it and you ate as much as you felt comfortable with. At home, you're not wasting (as you mentioned), so don't be too hard on yourself! 🙂 That pizza looked amazing! And on another note, maybe the mac and cheese is pre-made and lots of places have the same one – therefore none have any flavour. That could be a great challenge for your next recipe! In this fake world of put ons you are down pat honest and sincere so it’s defi not a put off.
