i call you mr green fingers how long have you been growing stuff
its going to be good next week make the most of it like i will .
Any allotments nearby ? Or do they have long waiting lists .?
I have 2 pvc greenhouses.. I’ve grown loads in them over the past few years. They’ve lasted as I take them down over the worst part of winter. Maybe something you could consider. 💚
What an awful day to show us what you have still growing. Your cabbage are looking good and I can't believe you are still getting strawberries. A lean-to greenhouse sounds perfect for next year.
Hi Ivan, 2-3 weeks time plant some garlic in some pots, not Lidl bulbs 👀
Hi Ivan.
I've only got space for a max 140cm wide by 140cm deep walk-in temporary plastic cover greenhouse. My problem is I'm too small to handle one hefty plastic cover for such a structure (and it would be a struggle to fold and store). If I left it up I'd be limited for yard space for growing on.
Possible solution? I'm thinking of getting two that are only about 75 cm front to back, then erecting them together and 'cutting through' a second rollup doorway from the front one to reach the back one. That would give me a decent sheltered space for standing and sowing/potting up in Spring (potting table etc across the back one, shelves either side of the front one). Later I could take the front one down, lower it's cut door, and move it aside to shelter semi/tender outdoor plants such as tomatoes and peppers. It might need a few zip-ties or some Velcro to hold them together, but they usually have loops for tie ropes I could use.
Given your limited ground space round your caravan, and storage issues, that might be a solution to having shelter when needed early on, then flexible cover for plants, without having one big structure blocking pathways or taking up storage.
Just a thought. Am I barmy? Its my experiment for 2025. If it fails, I can always use the plastic and struts for making cold frames. 💁♀
Get a aerogarden. I love mine on the kitchen table top ( tbh ) iv got 11 9 in a cubby hole all of them growing cucumbers tomatoes peppers etc
You have done an excellent job Ivan. It must have been all the more challenging when you are used to a greenhouse, so well done you!👌
As someone who has brought plants indoors before, Unless you specifically allocate a room for it, it becomes a slippery slope and soon all surfaces are just covered. Since your space is at a premium, better not to. But this isn't a bad thing because most people don't have them, so then it better matches what the public has. AKA: a small lean to half high tomato house, which you can choose the most premium use of the small space.
Also, you might get some discarded bricks to brace pots upright, and you can stack them under the caravan when not needed.
Great work Ivan.
I think you need to watch your chair position at the start of the video though.
Bit of an Aubergine situation going on there!
Thanks Ivan, for this great update it's been sunny and very windy up here but cold since the sun went down. Your peppers and strawberry plants are doing really well outside at this time of year. Have a great week. Take care and all the best. Stevie
I've wondered whether you would get a greenhouse in the future Ivan. Mine is a very slim wooden one with a full wooden back. Perspex windows (grandsons and footballs) and I'm amazed at how much stuff I've grown in it. I reckon you could grow much more in it. I love your videos. Always very informative. Will watch for the update on the possible new site 👍
Whenever one moves the first year is a learning curve …. Good luck
Have you ever tried Sprouting dried Mung Beans & Peas etc. Great for stir-frys.
Have you looked into the availability of an allotment
Yes you could maybe ask someone elderly who has an empty greenhouse if you could use theirs in exchange for some produce.
Are there any allotments about? A lot of people are giving up this year
You have done really well Ivan. Better than us and we do have a greenhouse. Still got cucumbers and tomatoes growing. We have bubble wrapped our greenhouse to help.
Stay positive fella, love your channel
Is there any chance that you could get an allotment at all? Or have you already looked into that? Thinking of you Ivan, that's a great set-up you have there💗
I’m sure I’m not alone saying I’m embarrassed about what I’ve grown compared to yourself. I hope you can find an allotment or would your site owners allow a collective green house or growing area (of course it would massively improve the kudos and value of the site😉) Your doing fine buddy by us viewers. Keep visualising it’ll come lad may not even be where you expect it👍
I can’t believe your lovely peppers, I grew mine in the greenhouse but they struggled to ripen fully. It’s been such a challenging year I’ve struggled to stay positive, I’m looking forward to a break this winter in the hope I’ll feel re invigorated next year . You have done amazing coping with such massive changes and still having successful harvests. So well done Ivan big pat on the back to you ❤️
I’ve just discovered your channel! 😊 1st year of growing & having greenhouse so I done quite well but still have lots to learn especially autumn/winter growing hence finding your videos! 🙏 Question…how have you managed to grow so well and the rabbits haven’t munched everything as any caravan site I’ve stayed at always has lots of rabbits?! 🤷♀️❤️😃
Ivan, ask, permissions to erect a greenhouse, lots of areas unused.
