On today’s 2 minute garden tip, I show you how to answer a simple question: is my tree dead, or is my tree alive? It’s not unusual to see a recently planted tree not growing at all months after planting. This can have many gardeners concerned. Never fear, testing trees for life is easy! This simple test tells you if your tree is dead or alive instantly.

Could tell it was green by the color green on the trunk before being cut. 👍

Now how about an adult tree with thick bark?
I bought a pear tree that I need to test. I know for fact it didn't have good roots so I left it alone and didn't worry with it this year. Guess I do need to check and make sure it didn't die. Thanks for sharing.
Great tip as always. I would like to tell u growing jujube on ground can be a bad indea. They can be very invasive. The roots can grow everywhere to seek out out water, and since you grow on the fence it will go to your neighbor's yard. Thats what happened to my mom. Good luck on the replacement tree.
Short and sweet and learned something valuable. Thanks MG.
How do we overwinter our avocado trees please?
he's dead, jim
