   The budget one works really well! Set mine up three weeks ago with a nightly temperatures started hitting the 20s regularly. Spinach, bok choy, three types of lettuce and broccolini are all coming in. The carrots are understandably, taking a little bit longer to sprout. I use cheap 2 mil painters tarp for wally world for $3 and get 2 from each. If you are thinking of this do it at least once

   Unfortunately, the sun in my garden is gone by 11 a.m. I only get 3 1/2 to 4 hours of direct sun in the fall. 😭

    So 1st, nothing makes me happier than getting through with an 10 1/2 hour work day and sitting down to one of your videos. 2nd – that it offers such great suggestions that I can work with. This one – not so much for "winter" gardening because we're dropping fast over the next few weeks (projected teens by the end of the month). But for my cold spring, you betcha. Thank you!

    I have one of those inexpensive green net type coldframes with a plastic frame and a zippered top. We've used it for three years and had to reinforce part of the frame. It is so lightweight and easy to move so we anchor it in place wherever we want it. If I were going to build your econo-frame, I would use an old washcloth to cover the tops of the metal posts.
