I think that one of the most difficult lessons for me to learn was that herb plants LIKE being harvested frequently. When I was starting out, I used to think that I needed to let the plant get huge before I'd start clipping them. Now that I know better, I am always looking for new recipes that require fresh herbs!

I planted perrenial herbs inground and I plant many annual herbs (like basil & cilantro) in raised beds each year to dehydrate, but I also grown fresh herbs indoors under growlights and in our small greenhouse during the winter months, but never indoors in one pot. I will have to try that this week since it will save space on the shelf. Thanks!
I have my new project — a one gallon mixed herb planter that will fit right into a small south facing window in our breakfast nook.
A one gallon mixed herb planter inside will be perfect for smaller dishes where I don't need so much and I'll have my outside herbs that I dare say are almost reaching bush status for when I need literal handfuls for things like big batches of osso buco.
